Danii started working at Wildflower when he was 17 and too shy to handle. We bonded over music taste and cheese raviolis. After a couple coworker hangouts and countless post-closing talks sitting on the hood of my car, he finally asked me on a date. Despite thinking he was adorable, I insisted on not being involved in anything too serious. But who was I kidding? One smile from the guy and I forget that I have any other purpose in life but to make him laugh. On July 6th, 2014 I agreed to officially be his girlfriend and we started the grand adventure of growing up and growing together. We found that together we brought out the best parts in one another. He became my beaming sun and I, his glowing moon. A fairy tale in the works, only with hair nets and polos in place of glass slippers and ball gowns.
Before even officially dating, Danii and I were talking about places we wanted to go and things we wanted to see. I told him I know it's nothing extravagant but one of my top places was the Redwood Forest. I had always been fascinated with trees and the stories they have to tell. I got a little too passionate (as I always seem to do) talking about how amazing it would be to see some of the oldest, largest, trees in the world. Fast forward three years and we planned a big vacation to Cali for our anniversary. We saw the Sequoias and did all the touristy things to do in San Francisco. Then on July 6th, 2017 (three years after he asked me to be his girlfriend), we went to Muir Woods, home of the Redwood trees I dreamt about. We strolled through, marveling at all the sights. But the tree coverage made it a little chilly, so when I saw a log with the sun beaming down between the leaves, I took the opportunity to sit down and warm up. Danii then took the opportunity kneel down and ask me to marry him. He had already asked my dad and two older brothers for permission (as if I needed any more reason to say yes) and I could not have asked for a more amazing, personal, or love-filled proposal. The trees have lived 1000s of years and have millions of stories to tell, but this one is by far our favorite.
