Marietas Islands Day Trip
This is a half day trip you can organize with a vendor directly (we went with the one that has a stand on the south side of Don Pedro's). It is a 30 minute boat trip to the Marietas Islands National Park. Depart Sayulita for the crystalline waters surrounding Marietas Islands in Banderas Bay, and jump into a sea filled with manta rays, sea horses and scores of tropical fish. You may even catch sight of the elusive blue-footed booby—a marine bird known for its colorful webbed feet. Or see whales on your way there or back.
Whale Watching Trip
Lots of vendors in Sayulita will offer whale watching excursions. You can book directly through your hotel or walk down to the beach by Don Pedro's and negotiate a ride on a penga (small boat) for a few hours. You can also see whales from the beach if you are lucky!
Surfing Lessons
Lots of vendors that offer surf lessons in front of Don Pedro's Restaurant. Mellow beach break waves perfect for beginners.
