We are going for a garden party vibe. Escondido can get pretty warm in the summertime (think 80-90 degrees!), so we are thinking semi-formal- nice dressy shirts/pants, dresses, jumpsuits, etc with consideration for the heat. Florals, pastels, bright colors, and all that jazz appreciated to embrace that San Diego summertime, but not necessary! Feel free to reach out to the bride or groom if you have any other questions about the dress code. We recommend bringing/wearing shoes you feel comfortable in as the ceremony will be on grass and there will be a decent amount of walking. We repeat... BRING COMFY SHOES! NOTE: Due to allergies, please avoid wearing additional/heavy fragrances. Thank you!
There will be a delicious 3-entree buffet, including pan-seared chicken breast, beef short ribs, and a vegan lasagna, 2 different salads, dinner rolls, and 2 side dishes. We want all our friends and family to enjoy a delicious dinner, so meals will be labeled as vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free as applicable. Following dinner, there will be cake. During cocktail hour, beer and wine will be available, and during the reception we will have a soda, lemonade, and water bar.
Instead of having to pay for parking, you simply just have to present your parking pass to the attendant at the park entry gate. If the voucher included with your invitation vanished, please do not hesitate to reach out to the bride or groom and we will email/message you a new one! The lot can be busy depending on the time of day you arrive, but I certainly recommend checking near the top regardless as people are leaving all throughout the day. During normal zoo hours, there is typically a shuttle to bring guests from further points in the lot towards the front (and back).
No worries! Showing a digital version works perfectly fine. If you need a digital version (or would just prefer one), reach out to the bride or groom and we can send you one in whatever format you prefer (text, email, Facebook message, Discord, Slack... whatever works)! If we could upload it to Zola for you to download here, we would.
In lieu of a formal get-together, we will be hanging out at La Jolla Shores the day after the wedding (Sunday, July 13th) and anyone who wants to swing by is welcome to! We will be doing a 2-hr kayak and snorkel tour at 12pm, but otherwise we plan to hang out at the beach from probably 10am-2:30/3pm. La Jolla beaches are very popular, as they are well known for sea lions! There are also tons of birds and sea critters, as it is a nice little marine reserve. It's very popular for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and sightseeing. There are also tons of cafes, shops and restaurants in the area! Note that parking can be difficult to come by because the beaches get busy, and there are a mix of paid and free lots in the area.
There are tons of things to see/do in San Diego County!
