This place is absolutely beautiful! Please note: It does take about 4 hours to get through. There is also a dress code: shoulders must be covered, no shorts, mini skirts or ripped jeans, modest clothing for both men and women, and hats should be removed when entering churches.

If you are looking to explore more outside of Rome and go north, we fell in love with Bellagio. This is a beautiful little town on Lake Como. To get here, you’d take the train from Rome to Milan (3 hours), and then the train from Milan to Varenna (1 hour). When in Varenna, you’ll take a ferry over to Bellagio (15 mins).
This is the most iconic staircase in Bellagio — colorful buildings, boutiques, and a straight sightline down to the lake.
Going for a boat cruise is always a great option when in Lake Como!
You’ll have to take a train ride to get to Venice (3-4 hours from Rome), but this place is beautiful! This is called Venezia in Italy and the main area to stay in is San Marco.

Highly recommend taking a boat cruise to see Capri for a day. As well as the blue grotto and see the beautiful blue water.
If you are looking for night life, this is the place to go! It’s a bar built into the rocks. Great drinks and fun dance floor!
If you are feeling like taking a cruise to a near by coast town or just riding around in Positano, we highly recommend renting a Vespa. They are so much fun!
