How We Met

11.01.2015

We met during our sophomore year at Jacksonville State. One of my roommates was dating one of his roommates and we eventually met that way. We didn't really talk except for every once in a while, up until one night when he was studying for a history test. I had just had to make muffins for a class - I had to film myself "explaining" how to do something and all I knew how to do was bake. When he started complaining about his upcoming test, I took it upon myself to head over with muffins in hand to help him study. He's been my study buddy ever since.

Our First Date

11.10.2015

Our first "date" was...interesting. He invited me to "Pasta Bowl" at Olive Garden during the "all you can eat" pasta days. It's a 20J tradition, they bring dates, and I can't say no to a breadstick. Seeing 30+ grown men try to out-eat each other with some serious rule following to do was a traumatizing experience, but some how we kept going back year after year.

The Proposal

6.24.19

I had been thinking that the proposal was coming for a while (a LONG while) but was just going with the flow. When summer came around and we looked at the idea of doing a birthday trip for Avery, I knew that Savannah would be the PERFECT place. He had never been and I had been dying to come back. So we took off work, packed up the car, and drove through a rainstorm to get here. I will say that I truly had no idea what was coming. We woke up one day and decided we would just go out walking and exploring. We walked all the way from Bay St to Forsyth Park in the hot and humid mid June afternoon. We got to Forsyth and decided to sit and rest a while - there was no one around except a violinist and an owl drinking from the fountain. He got up to throw something away, and next thing I know he's down on one knee. It wasn't your usual Savannah proposal because no one was in the park that day, but it was pretty perfect to me.

The Wedding

11.12.2022

We are so excited to finally be planning a wedding with all of our friends and family to support us. Our wedding will be held at Savannah Station in downtown Savannah. We encourage our friends and family to carpool as parking is tricky. There is an open bar so please enjoy yourselves, but be the responsible adults we have tried to grow up to be. Uber/Lyft is an affordable option throughout Savannah, so please use them if need be.

For all the days along the way
