Heather and Patrick first met in a field of festival freaks at Harmony Park. All the freaky people were making the beauty of the world. Patrick was in his kilt with bagpipes and Heather was dressed as a faerie with a drum strapped to her as they were both at the front of the festival parade. After that, Pat and Heather were still heavily involved in Wookiefoot festivals. Patrick was playing in the band and around campfires, while Heather was teaching juggling workshops, performing with Wookiefoot on occasion, running the Vaudeville stage, and leading the 'Faerie Fashion Show". It wasn't until Heather started touring with him and the band 10 years ago, that the they really got to know each other and eventually fell in love. They made their love unofficially official after WookieFoot's winter festival called "Snowball" in 2012. Immediately after, Heather got a contract touring with a traveling dinosaur show for 8 months. During that time, Heather and Patrick Skyped every day (sometimes multiple times a day) and got to know each other more deeply long distance style. Patrick flew in many times over those months and joined the show working the inflatable rides as the "Red Leader".. conveniently always located right next to face painting (Heather's booth). They traveled the country going on crazy adventures, working hard, being in love and experiencing all the beauty and the trials of living on the road. When they returned, they were inseparable. They continue adventuring, touring, supporting each other in their dreams, and still being weird. As Dr. Seuss says "When you find someone whose weirdness is compatible with yours, you join up with them and fall into mutual weirdness and call it love." Together for 6 years, they are still going strong and cannot wait for the next chapter together. Come what may... "Piper McDreamy" and "Feather the Faerie" are ready! Sometimes, to find your heart, you truly have to lose your mind.
It was a loud Christmas Day at the McCormick house on the day that Patrick proposed to Heather. Before the feast, Patrick had arranged for Heather's family (including Justen) along with his family to gather around for a special game he made. Heather was shocked and slightly offended at first that Patrick had come up with a game all on his own without any input from his favorite faerie. He handed a gift bag to every member of both families. Each member opened their bag which contained a card that they read to Heather full of love, acceptance, and excitement for the fact that they had found each other. Each bag also contained a puzzle piece that after the card was read, they put the piece on the table. Surprisingly, it took a minute for Heather to catch onto what was happening. After all the pieces had been placed, the puzzle formed a beautiful landscape painting that Patrick's mother, Teresa, had painted with a message that said "Marry Me". Patrick got on one knee and Heather of course lost it! Never in a million years did this faerie think she would get married, but he IS PEREFCT. Barely any Christmas feast was eaten after that because of all the champagne and celebrating that happened afterwards. Beautiful. Thoughtful. Creative. PERFECT.
