FAQs

Question

What Should I Wear?

Answer

Our wish is for everyone to come dressed in formal attire, but most importantly, we want you to feel comfortable. As we are travelling between our ceremony and reception, we recommend wearing shoes that you’ll feel steady and comfortable walking in. Guests are welcome to wear any colour that makes them feel their best—except for white, which we’re reserving for the bride. For reference, our bridesmaids will be wearing pale yellow and pale blue—you’re absolutely welcome to wear these shades as well, but we wanted to share in case you’d prefer not to match. Your presence is the most important thing to us, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident as you celebrate with us!

Question

What Time Should We Arrive?

Answer

The shuttles will arrive at the ceremony approximately 20 minutes before the ceremony begins. If you are taking a different form of transportation, we recommend arriving 20 minutes early as well (3:40pm).

Question

will there be parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking space at the venue, should you choose to drive. However, the bride and groom will be providing a shuttle service to and from downtown Halifax (The Westin Nova Scotian).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your children and we’re so grateful to be part of their lives—but for this special day, we’ve decided to keep the celebration adults-only. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy a fun evening together. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Due to space limitations, we’re only able to accommodate the guests formally listed on your invitation. If a plus one was included, it will be indicated on your invite. We appreciate your understanding as we keep our celebration intimate!

Question

Will alcohol be served?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be celebrating with a full open bar, so come ready to raise a glass with us. Cheers to good company, great memories, and an unforgettable night!

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

We’ll be serving a dinner with a variety of options, including both meat and vegetarian dishes—so there’s something for everyone! During cocktail hour, you can look forward to tasty appetizers, and we’ll be bringing out some late-night snacks to keep the party going. If you have any dietary restrictions, don’t worry—we’ll be collecting that information during the RSVP process and will make sure your needs are taken care of. We want all our guests to feel well-fed and happy throughout the celebration!

Question

Can we take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that all phones and cameras be put away during our ceremony—we’ll be having an unplugged moment as we say “I do.” We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture everything, and we promise to share the beautiful photos with you afterward. Your presence means the most to us, and we’d love for you to be fully present in the moment with us!

Question

Is there a wedding registry?

Answer

We’re truly grateful for your generosity and support. Since our wedding will be in Nova Scotia and we currently live in St. Catharines, we’re unable to travel home with physical gifts due to space limitations. Instead, if you wish to contribute, a gift toward our honeymoon fund would be most appreciated. Your presence at our celebration is the greatest gift of all, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Who should I reach out to if I have questions?

Answer

If you have any questions before the wedding weekend, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either the bride or groom—we’re happy to help! Once the festivities begin, we’ll be fully immersed in celebrating with everyone, so we kindly ask that any questions during the wedding weekend be directed to our weekend-of coordinator. We’re still finalizing this important role and will share their contact details closer to the date.

Question

Will there be additional celebratory events on the weekend of the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We’ve planned a Tall Ship Sail on Saturday, August 1st from 4-6pm for all of our wedding guests. We hope you can make it!
