While we officially started dating in early 2017, “Our Story” began much earlier than that. When Brad started at Enova in 2014, he was assigned the office next door to Babs. Babs was skeptical about inviting Brad — the seemingly serious new addition to marketing — to lunches with the team. She did so anyway and soon realized how wrong her first impression was. Through Miller Lite-filled happy hours and highbrow debates with the lunch crew (with such hot button topics as ‘what is a sandwich?’ and ‘what defines a sport?’), it became clear Brad and Babs would be great work pals. Over time, work lunches evolved into after work happy hours, and work happy hours grew into weekend parties with friends, and eventually into a secret first sushi date. (Note: We both wanted to keep it hush-hush because of work, and as fate would have it, ran into Brad’s manager at the very same sushi restaurant. Good thing all parties involved were drunk). In our 4.5 years together we’ve adventured near (we have a Chicago hot dog-based bucket list) and far (seven countries and many US cities, collecting skyline pics as souvenirs along the way). But the best adventure of all was yet to come. In December, Brad took Babs on a nice lakefront walk (it was slightly above freezing) for a perfect view of their favorite skyline of all. Brad asked her to go to many, many more Cubs games together…. I mean, marry him. She said yes (to both). We are so excited to have everyone in our favorite place to celebrate with us. See you November 6th!
