Milford Mine Memorial Park
Milford Mine Memorial Park commemorates the state's worst mining disaster, which occurred on February 5, 1924, when a mine shaft collapse flooded the Milford Mine, killing 41 miners. The park, developed on the historic site, features interpretive signs, walking trails, boardwalks, and overlooks that tell the story of the tragedy and its impact on the community, honoring both the lives lost and the seven who survived. It serves as a place for reflection, education, and outdoor recreation, with features like a boardwalk over the mine shaft and memorial trees. Located north of Cuyuna State Rec Area.
