Groom
Ross grew up in small-town Iowa with his parents Steve and Erin and older sister Lauren. He enjoyed playing basketball and ended up playing at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in Minnesota where he studied communications (radio broadcasting) and marketing. He later moved to Florida to start his career and settled in Fort Lauderdale. After a few years in the Sunshine State, he was looking into MBA programs and came across the working professional's evening MBA program at Wake Forest University. After accepting a job in Winston, Ross relocated to North Carolina and began a new chapter in his life. Ross loves serving others, busting a dance move, playing and coaching basketball, and anything that is buffalo chicken flavored.
Bride
Meghan grew up in Winston-Salem, NC with her parents Don and Phyllis and six siblings, AJ, Katelyn, Carolyn, Michael, Isaac, and Susan. She grew up loving art, playing violin, and swimming competitively. She studied Exercise Science at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA while also competing in D1 swimming. Upon graduation she stayed in the beautiful mountains of Virginia and worked as a physical therapy tech in a small clinic for two years. Meghan headed to Duke to pursue her doctorate in Physical Therapy in the fall of 2017 and is on track to complete the program in May 2020.
Best Man
I met Dan (or Daniel as all of our professors called him) in college during my freshman year. Dan transferred to Northwestern and despite being years ahead of me ended up stuck in an entry level class with me which led to the start of our friendship. Even after Dan graduated and got married, he was a spiritual mentor to me as well as a very close friend. Through the years, Dan has always been there to help me navigate life and offer wisdom to me whenever I needed it. Dan is married to his lovely wife Heather and they live in Minnesota with their children.
Maid of Honor
Brye got me through the stresses of college swimming at LU and became as close as family. She was my Sprint-Momma, lane leader, and dear friend. We were sure to be stirring up trouble, breaking out in spontaneous dancing, or singing songs during social kick sets in the pool and weightroom when the coaches backs were turned #lane2forlife. She has always supported me and cheered me on in the pool, in life, and in my choice to pursue graduate school. Brye is one of those friends that no matter how long we are apart, when we are reunited it feels like no time has past at all.
Groomsman
One of the founding members of the "framily" (friends that are family), I met Jonathan through the young professional's Bible study I went to in Fort Lauderdale. Jonathan was always there with wisdom, a joke, and/or a smile to make every encounter memorable no matter where you were in your walk of life. This even includes going to the Orange Bowl on New Year's Eve at the last minute without having any idea of what one wore to a football game.
Maid of Honor
Buddies since day one. From years of princess dress-up in the backyard, to both being student athletes at Liberty U we have been and inseparable pair. Our mutual interest in medicine and helping people has bonded us closer over the years as Susan pursues her career as a nurse. She is my original #twintower and as long as I'm not stealing her sweaters and shoes we are always there for each other ;)
Groomsman
I met Cam when living in Fort Lauderdale right after college. We first met bowling at a birthday party where the after party was at a line dancing bar (Round Up for life!). We were also on the leadership team for a young professional's Bible study together and Cam has been instrumental in my life by showing me his free spirit of dance (he is an award winning dancer), the art of water skiing, legal advice, fashion sense, and wisdom over the course of our friendship.
Bridesmaid
"Every tall girl needs a short best friend." Amy and I met as lifeguards at Liberty and after many long shifts together we became great friends. Amy was my NARP ( non-athlete regular person) friend and listened to more than her fair share of swim team stories as she helped me stay balanced and have fun in school. We both have a lifelong passion for learning and education. Despite the college days being behind us and living states away, I am so glad we have remained good friends.
Groomsman
I met Jordan in Fort Lauderdale and have crisscrossed the country on trips with him ever since. Whether that's going to Key West, the mountains of Colorado, New Orleans, or my visits to the concrete jungle of New York City, Jordan is a tried and true friend that is always there with the idea for the next adventure already hatched in his mind.
Bridesmaid
I can't remember a time when Mary and I were not friends. We grew up together through homeschool co-ops and events. Our friendship has stood the test of time as we went to separate colleges to play sports, weathered injuries, and shared our passion for science and learning. There is no such thing as a short conversation with this sweet friend.
Groomsman
Jackson and I have been a part of numerous things together. If seeing each other two nights a week for two years while getting our MBAs wasn't enough, we were also a part of a local Bible study and travelled abroad to China and Taiwan together during school. We have had many fond memories together and look forward to many more despite Jackson being a die hard Duke fan.
Bridesmaid
Lindsay and I are on the same TBL team at Duke DPT. I am so thankful to have an awesome group of teammates that have become close friends. Lindsay is one of the smartest people I know and has helped me study for numerous exams -- even when we get a little nutty in the library after hours of reviewing notes. We have been partners for every (stressful!) practical exam in PT school and we always share a celebratory high five after we pass each one.
