We met in 2018, both new to the world of car sales and figuring out our way around the lots. Jacob worked at the Toyota dealership, and I was across the way at Buick GMC — two “sister stores” under what was then Kasper Owned. Though we didn’t technically work together, we often shared vehicles and even more often, shared rides. One day, I needed a lift back to my dealership from Toyota, and Jacob’s boss decided he was the perfect man for the job. (We still debate whether it was fate or a setup.) On our short ride, Jacob — never one to waste a captive audience — basically played 21 Questions at full speed. We got on a first-name basis, laughed a little, and went our separate ways. A few weeks later, fate stepped in again — this time at a Halloween party in downtown Sandusky. I spotted Jacob and walked right up to him: “Do you remember me?” I asked, even though I knew he did. We laughed, talked, and ended up exchanging numbers. We hung out for a few hours, went our separate ways again… but this time, something stuck. I couldn’t stop thinking about him. If there’s one thing to know about Jacob — he’ll always make you laugh, and I love that. That night turned into another, where we bonded over music, played each other our favorite songs, and stayed up way too late talking and laughing. Before long, I was spending most of my time at his place (my apartment didn’t allow pets, anyway), and we decided to make it official — I moved in. In April of 2019, we found out we were expecting our first baby. That sweet surprise became our daughter, Nina Rose Contreras. We quickly upgraded to a house on W. Osborne Street in Sandusky, painted a nursery, and waited for our little girl. When she came, our lives changed in the most beautiful way. We were overwhelmed, exhausted, totally in love with her — and more bonded than ever. By early 2021, we bought our first home, a cozy little ranch — right in the middle of a pandemic. We had just settled in when, over a year later, Jacob started acting strange. He told me he had a question for me when he got off work. (Naturally, I couldn’t wait.) I made him come home during his lunch break, where he nervously got down on one knee in our living room and asked me to marry him with our daughter beside him. The ring was so big, I couldn’t hear a single word — but I cried and said yes. February 28, 2022, we were officially engaged. A few weeks later, we found out I was pregnant again. Sadly, we lost that pregnancy — a deeply painful chapter, but one we got through together. That spring, I focused on a new dream and began pursuing my Real Estate license. Jacob’s car sales career was booming, and I was able to work just a couple days a week while studying. In August of 2022, we bought our second house — a beautiful four-bedroom where we could grow our future. We made it a home, quickly and lovingly. Fast forward to 2023: I was still working hard toward my real estate license. I failed more than once, but I didn’t give up. And by the end of January, I officially became a licensed Realtor in the state of Ohio. Just days later, on February 4th, life surprised us again — I was pregnant. We were scared, of course, but excited. That April, we found out we were expecting another baby girl: our wild, perfect, Remi Maria Contreras, who arrived on October 9th, 2023. And just like that, we were four. Through the years, we’ve built a life full of love, laughter, and music. We never rushed our wedding — we always said we had a lifetime together, and that was enough. But in August of 2024, we fell in love with The Oak at Millsite Farm and finally began planning. Here we are, after seven beautiful years, two amazing daughters, and a love that never stopped growing — getting ready to say I do. On October 11, 2025, we won’t just be celebrating our wedding. We’ll be celebrating everything we’ve built, and everything still to come. And we’re so honored that you have a front-row seat to our next chapter: Marriage.
