FAQs

Question

Where is the Wedding located?

Answer

We chose to have a destination wedding in Houston, TX.

Question

Why did you both choose Houston as your wedding location?

Answer

Our first trip was to Houston and we had the most amazing time. We thought it would be a great way to celebrate our relationship with a full circle moment with our closest family and friends.

Question

I didn’t get an invitation by mail, what happened?

Answer

We didn’t send out invitations. At the time of sending out RSVP’s we needed responses within 3 weeks. Snail mail wasn’t ideal for us so RSVP’s were all online. We will send out thank you cards only.

Question

Which airport should we fly into?

Answer

Great question. Short answer HOU is the closest. IAH typically has the better prices. Houston has 2 airports IAH- George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Is a huge airport. Lots of traffic and but they have more flights and connections. HOU- William P Hobby Airport. Smaller airport. Domestic flights only. 7 miles from downtown. IAH- We refer to this airport as Bush typically. 22miles from the venue. Depending on traffic about 30 minutes. HOU- referred to as Hobby. 9miles away and about 22 minutes from the venue. Please check the TRAVEL section for all things travel related.

Question

Why on a Wednesday?

Answer

When we chose our date we were more concerned with the actual DATE vs the DAY of the week. We also originally planned to elope in 2024 and have a wedding in 2027. Then the celebration would fall on a Saturday. But we wanted to share this moment with some of our closest family hence the micro wedding. We hope that we can have something grand and spectacular in a few years but for now this is enough for us. We know that it’s an inconvenience for some who have school/ work but if we waited for a day that would be convenient for everyone we love, we would be old and gray. Tre has a few gray strands but not me baby. I feel like I’m 26. Seriously though, time waits for no one. How arrogant is it to think 2027 is promised to us or the people we love most? We are just enjoying what we have now.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it ?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can’t make it to our wedding please indicate your regrets on our RSVP tab so we can plan accordingly. If you already RSVP’d attending but can’t please text Nae or Tre ASAP.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by February 10th, 2024.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. Dress code is semi formal attire. Please wear the colors: Green, pink or Champagne. No white, off-white, or cream. No jeans! No sneakers, this is not a sneaker ball. Exact colors shown in gallery images.

Question

What is the anticipated weather?

Answer

Typical weather for Spring in Houston is between 70-84 so please be prepared. But if you know Houston then you know the weather can be two things in one day so prepare yourself accordingly.

Question

Will the wedding take place indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Both the ceremony and the reception will be indoor.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Everyone should be in their seats by 4:45pm. So guests should arrive to the venue by 4:30pm. We have assigned tables so we want you all to have time to find your seats and settle in. If you are not in your seat by 4:45 then please wait until the reception to enter the venue. We will have dedicated at the door and you will NOT be let in, no matter your justified your reason it. Black people, please be on time!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However we decided to keep our wedding and reception an intimate, adult-only event with the exception of immediate family. We encourage you to use this night as a date night.

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

Originally the answer was yes. But in the spirit of responsibility we decided to keep the costs low. We will supply party favors in the form of 3 shots or 3 margaritas in a very low key parking lot sipping kind of way. We can’t bring the alcohol inside the venue or they will fine us and potentially end the event early with no refund. So please honor our request. Ghetto as hell, I Know, I know.

Question

May I bring my own adult beverage?

Answer

The more the merrier! However we can’t have alcohol in the venue since we didn’t chose their alcohol package. Which was half the damn price of the venue. We will be taking keys of any guests who appear intoxicated and attempt to drive. Please plan to Uber back to your accommodations.

Question

Where is your registry?

Answer

Due to having an out of town wedding we won’t have the capacity to transport gifts. Please use your gift money to buy yourself something nice because we will be taking pictures all evening 💕. By the way Wedding colors are shown in the GALLERY tab. Please, please use your money to buy yourself something nice. If you insist on gifting us. Cash gifts are appreciated but not expected.
