Chris and I met at the dessert table in the East Room at a White House Christmas reception a little over 10 years ago. Chris was there as part of the President's Own Marine Band and I was doing catering as a side job while going to school. I gave him my number on a White House napkin (which he later regifted me on our 1st wedding anniversary). We went out to Old Ebbitt Grill that night and stayed up talking until 2am, and shared our first kiss on New Years 2016. Since that day, we've built our lives around one another, and have made each other better than we could have ever been apart. We even got married in 2023, and it was a beautifully intimate ceremony with just our immediate families in attendance. But on June 13, we'll have God as our witness at a proper Catholic mass, and have a proper "Wedding at Cana" celebration with a real live red wine fountain flowing until 3:45 am - it will be a party to remember, and this time, we'll get to celebrate with each and every one of you!
