Bridesmaid
Friends since elementary school. The first words Emma ever muttered to Kim were, "I sucked," after playing O Canada together in a violin performance. Kim and Emma no longer play violin together, but now prefer to eat their way through Vancouver and beyond one Asian food restaurant at a time. Their joint motto is, "If you eat, I eat." One night in Vancouver, Kim and Emma went to a teppanyaki restaurant and realized they were still so hungry after that they went to have a second dinner. Emma is very happy to have someone in her life who will have things like a second dinner with her.
Bridesmaid
Friends since elementary school. Katie and Emma became friends when they wrote a short play together in grade 6, in which Katie played Ariel from The Little Mermaid and Emma played Jasmine from Aladdin. Their shared love of theatrics continues to this day, as many may have seen videos of them competing in scavenger hunt challenges together. Despite the distance, the two manage to talk regularly and still connect over pop culture references, in which Emma considers Katie her main source for celebrity news these days.
Bridesmaid
Acquaintances since high school, but real friends since a Geography class in university. Alison and Emma bonded over their love of the Richmond Night Market, musicals, and Asian things. They have a YouTube channel that features just one video – a rendition of La Biblioteca by Troy and Abed from the show Community. Recently, Emma and Alison traveled to New York together to see the K-pop sensation, BTS – something that has been very easy to bond over. While still very new to the genre, Emma appreciates Alison as her #1 K-pop informant.

Sheila and Emma met on a 25 minute plane ride from Bellingham to Seattle, Washington when Sheila accidentally sat on Emma's seatbelt. They instantly hit it off when they found that they both went to UBC and were in the Arts Co-op Program. The two didn't speak for a number of months after because Emma couldn't find Sheila's Facebook page. Neither remembers how they were able to reconnect. When they were able to find each other again they found even more in common through shared music tastes and a strong love for Harry Potter. From memories in Vancouver, Portland, to London, the two never fail to make a dance floor out of anywhere they go together.
Groomsman
Friends since high school. Fatefully having 4 (out of 7) classes together Sophomore year of high school, Matt and Roger became quick friends. From humble beginnings of goofing off in the dark room in Photography class and long days trying to beat Halo co-op on Legendary difficulty. To daily disc golf trips through the Redwood forest and enjoying hockey rivalries of the Sharks vs Canucks. They have maintained a connection through similar interests and activities for 16 years.
Groomsman
Friends since high school. Roger’s first interaction with Clayton was being tackled to the ground during off campus lunch, which led to much lighthearted confusion. However, Clayton and Roger have shared many experiences since. From road trips exploring colleges after high school, to drifting through those college years with many late-night/mid-day adventures, to being a witness to Roger and Emma’s Oakland city hall wedding in 2016. Their sense of adventure remains true to this day.
Groomsman
Friends since high school. Jon and Roger met through Matt, never shared classes, but had no problem getting along from the start. Even cutting class after lunch once during Senior year to go longboarding, where Jon immediately crashed, so Roger then had to take him to his grandmother’s house to bandage him up. From starting in high school with Roger in McKinleyville and Jon in Fieldbrook, to floating down the American River while being neighbors in Sacramento, to both moving to the SF bay area around the same time. They have often followed a similar course.
Groomsman
Friends since the college years. Rusty and Roger went to College of the Redwoods at the same time and ran in a similar friend circle. Meeting formally through Clayton, they hit it off easily. Through shared tastes in board games, to joint sarcastic teasing of Clayton, to long Smash Bros. nights, and equal disc golf days, they have always enjoyed a good bout of competition (although Rusty certainly has no equal in the beard category…).
