When Riley and I first began our journey one of the very first things we did was go out to his dads Cabin on Ohop Lake right outside of Eatonville, WA. This place is one of the most serene places in Washington. We took our date for an adventure going to the Eatonville Waterfalls which back then were very unknown. The trails were unmarked and unmaintained. We ventured out to the falls but found ourselves scaling the cliffs to reach the falls unable to find the appropriate trails to access them. It was such a memorable day for us and a landmark in our relationship. Riley brought us out to this historical cabin once more for his birthday plans, according to me. However, many of our friends had been in on the original plan to begin with. We spent this beautiful weekend on the lake celebrating his birthday, waking up the next day to partake on another hiking adventure to our favorite Eatonville falls with friends. Today, these falls are one of the most popular trails near Eatonville, much more foot traffic and trail markings can be found. We adventure down to the beautiful falls once more with so much serenity. Unbeknownst to me, he intended to propose. As we scramble down to the falls my friends suggest we take a photo. As we get set up they take my pup Daisy from me though I argued for a moment, wanting my dog in the photo of course! However, Nyssa insisted she hold on to Daisy while everyone prepares to take a photo. At this moment Riley bends on one knee and surprises me with the biggest question ever, displays a ring that has so much love, time, thought, and familial tradition imbedded into it. Shocked as I was, it was the most perfect moment in time and will be cherished by us forever.
