The RSVP deadline is February 28th, 2026. Please note that it is highly important you RSVP for the sake of logistics and catering. RSVPs will NOT be honored/accepted after this date.
Unfortunately, once the RSVP deadline has passed we will be unable to make changes to our guest list. We have to provide the caterer and venue our guest count ahead of time so it is paramount you RSVP. Thank you for understanding and for your cooperation.
Unfortunately, unless one has been specifically granted on your invitation, we cannot accommodate plus ones due to limited space. We appreciate your understanding and cannot wait to celebrate with you!
While we love your little ones, this will majorly be an adult only affair, unless otherwise specifically indicated on your invitation. Children under the age of two years old or who are in the wedding party are exempt.
We will not have a traditional wedding registry. If you do choose to bless the couple in this new season, there is a honeymoon fund that you can donate to ahead of the wedding. Please check the 'Registry' tab above for more information. In Nigerian culture, there is a tradition where well wishers can “spray money”. When music is playing, it is common to lightly place money on the couple while they dance. If you have large currency notes, there will be a station to get single bills to exchange for easier spraying.
Please arrive by 5:45 pm. The engagement proceedings will begin around 6:15 pm
The ceremony will start promptly at 2:00. Please arrive no later than 1:45 pm, as access to the church may be restricted after the start of the ceremony. Seating in the church will start at 1:30 pm. Please account for time to park and traffic delays from your point of origin.
This event is meant to be colorful and fun! There will be a myriad of Nigerian traditional wear celebrating both Igbo and Edo cultures. If you are a friend of the bride or groom, you are welcome to wear something with mauve or pink. For those who are friends of the parents of the bride or groom, please reach out to them to discuss aso ebi and color choices. If you will not be wearing traditional Nigerian attire, cocktail attire is recommended. Please no jeans, t shirts or baseball caps.
The dress code for the wedding events on Saturday, is 'black tie-optional'. For men, this includes a well tailored suit (no tux necessary) and for women, options in this category include mid to floor length dresses or jumpsuit. It is better to err on the side of 'overdressed' for Saturday. Please do not wear white.
Guests may park in the two rear lots behind Genesis Church (accessible from N. Center St. and W. University Ave.). Additional parking is available in the large parking structure located directly across from the church on Main Street.
Michigan does experience all four seasons, and April can provide a mix of sun, snow or rain depending on the forecast. While all of the events are indoors, please keep an eye on the weather report to better guide travel plans and attire.
If clarity is needed on any of the wedding festivities, please send the couple an email to EPUNAWEDDING2026@GMAIL.COM.
