Prasad is one of those people that you can get along with so easily. I first remember meeting him during grade 11 in math class, but we got to know each other in during grade 12 lunch. He was a total nerd, but I liked that about him. He was super nice and sweet but very quiet. We had English class together where we became good friends. One day, when we were hanging out, Prasad asked me to prom! I wasn’t expecting that question. And he was probably not expecting a 'no' from me. However, I did save him a dance. Fast forward a few years and we were in university studying accounting together at York University. A couple years after I graduated university, Prasad decided to try asking one more time and me being in a good mood, I finally said yes!
Avneet seems to think we met in grade 11 but I can’t remember her there at all. I first met her in grade 12 while I was falling asleep in a family studies class and she came in to present the yearbook. We became good friends while competing in English class for a higher mark, but I will always know her as the girl that came in to present the yearbook. A few years after being turned down for prom, I realized I still had feelings for her and wanted her to know that. On October 11th of 2016, I asked her again with much better success. The rest is three years of history.
Avneet was expecting a proposal on their third-year anniversary (October 11th), so Prasad decided that popping the question a few days before that would be the best time to surprise her. He created a scrapbook of pictures of their special moments throughout the last 10 years of their lives. At the end of the scrapbook, he wrote “Turn the page for a new chapter” and there it was – a ring!
