The Beehive is one of our favorite restaurants for a fun dinner experience. Check their website for their live jazz schedule, and make sure to make a reservation if you plan on going for dinner!
A crowd-pleasing restaurant right in the heart of Boston's Newbury Street shopping area. Casual place, good for brunch, lunch, or dinner, with plenty of space for groups!
If you love French food as much as we do, you'll love Ma Maison!
This big indoor market is right near the apartment Ava lived in the summer she interned in Boston. There are different stalls with vendors selling various foods, drinks, and other goods, and an area with cafeteria-style seating. Stop here to explore and support local businesses and have a great lunch, coffee, or snack!
Breakfast sandwiches pretty close to the hotel and venue. Small place, great for to-go orders! Warning: the concept of a bec on a hard roll doesn't seem to exist in Boston.
This is one of our favorite places to pick up sandwiches by far!! If you're up for a quick drive, head over to this Italian deli/grocery in Revere for a gigantic sub. While you're there, you can also swing by Revere Beach to see America's first public beach!
iykyk open till midnight
If you're looking for a bit of a higher energy activity for a group of 4+, Ryan highly recommends Boda Borg, which is located right in our neighborhood! This place is great for people of all ages, and is fully indoors.
We have to admit that this one might not be one of our top things to do personally, but Encore casino is just down the street from where we live, and can be a fun stop if you like gambling!
Harpoon has a great taproom, and also offers brewery tours which include a tasting at the end! This was one of Ava and Ryan's first activities together in Boston the summer Ava lived here for an internship.
Located right in Boston's Seaport district, the ICA is a fun contemporary art museum, with beautiful views of the harbor and fun rotating exhibits!
We love art museums, and this is an especially unique one! It's a beautiful place to explore, but can get busy so we recommend getting there close to opening!
We loved visiting the Arnold Arboretum back when covid first hit for long walks and to see beautiful plants and birds. It's free to visit, accessible by subway, bus, or car, and is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
Okay - we know this sounds weird, but the Forest Hills Cemetery is so cool, and is absolutely beautiful! It is one of America's oldest and most beautiful garden cemeteries, and offers visitors guides right at the entrance which detail 60 points of interest within the cemetery. There are a number of famous people buried here, such as poets E.E. Cummings and Anne Sexton. It is free to visit, and the main entrance closes at 5pm daily in October.
A 2.5 mile walking trail through Boston, which hits 16 national significant historic sites. Keep an eye out for a brick line through the sidewalk (pictured) while you're walking around Boston - you may just end up on it by accident!
The Public Garden is just a few blocks away from the venue, and is a beautiful public park to walk around!
Open 24 hours, line goes fast, best when drunk. Ava specifically highly recommends!! Try the stuffed croissants and florentine cannoli! Tip: If you Uber/Lyft back from here late at night, walk to one of the busier roads and then call your Uber, it'll probably be cheaper, and your Uber is likely to ask you to walk there anyway. Shout out Shannon, Hunter, and Christer (photographed)
One of Ava's favorites from the summer she lived in the North End! Touristy and fun - there's usually a DJ upstairs, and a live band downstairs. Cash cover. Go to Bova's after!
Live music upstairs, and a DJ downstairs. This one is also a bit touristy, but can be high energy fun (see pic of Ryan enjoying a big silly drink)! You can reserve tables in advance for a fee, but it can be worth it if you plan on hanging around, and I think you may be able to skip the line. Shout out Ryan Stanley's parents for the drink (photographed)
One of Ava and Ryan's favorite restaurants/bars in Boston. If you love Mexican food and delicious cocktails, this stop is a must! Tip: Their Fort Point location is a bit further from the wedding venue and hotel than their Back Bay location, but is much bigger and is suitable for larger parties. Both are great!
A 21+ barcade in Cambridge. Ener through the grilled cheese place! Tip: if you're looking to play a lot of games, get there around when they open in the evening. They get crowded!
Karaoke bar!
