FAQs

If you have any questions that aren't answered somewhere on this site, please feel free to reach out to Ava or Ryan directly via text, or email us both at ava.ryan.wedding@gmail.com. Keep checking back in on this page, as we're sure there will be some questions that we haven't thought of yet!
Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Check out the Travel tab for info on the room block we reserved right by the venue. There are a ton of hotels, Airbnbs, and other places to stay in and around Boston, and Boston is an incredibly walkable city, so you are definitely not limited to just that one option. If you want to stay close to the venue, look for a place in or around Back Bay, the South End, or the Theater District. If you're willing to walk/Uber from a bit further, you can really stay in any Boston neighborhood and still get to the venue pretty easily!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

While we don't have a formal "Welcome Event" Friday night, we will be planning on going out to a bar in the area after dinner that night, and would love for anyone who is around to come meet up with us! More details to be added here as we get closer! We also encourage everyone to check out the "Things To Do" tab for some of our recommended activities for a weekend in Boston, so you can experience some of the things we've loved about living here!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We've got a fun, dark and moody venue, and wanted to lean into it by encouraging formal attire. If you're like us before we googled it, you may not know what this means, so we will explain. For formal attire, one should wear a suit, gown, nice cocktail dress, or dressy pantsuit. Word of warning for those who like wearing heels - there's a lot of cobblestone in Boston, and Ava's had a few twisted ankles over the years. It might be wise to bring an extra pair of flats just in case!!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Paid parking is available next to the venue at the Arlington Street Lot, 109 Arlington Street Boston, MA 02116. For those staying at Hotel AKA, valet parking will be available for approximately $65 per night. If you're looking for a cheaper option, we recommend using SpotHero (https://www.spothero.com) to find a garage nearby!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are working on a small registry, which will be found in the "Registry" tab on this website as soon as we've finished it. As we have been living together for quite a while now, and live in an apartment, we don't really have a need for many more household items. We both really value the experiences we have together, so we have chosen to include various cash funds within the registry, for things like our honeymoon and different date nights we can do together as a married couple! We are so grateful to our friends and family for even making the trip up here, and want to make this an enjoyable weekend for all. Our focus is on the time spent celebrating with you, and not on the gifts we receive. Please only contribute what you feel comfortable with. Money and things come and go, but we will always remember the times spent together!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

As the venue is right around the corner from the hotel, we don't have transportation arranged. That said, we have outlined some alternative transit options for those not staying at the hotel in the Travel tab on this site!
