Flight
Our official wedding activities in Iceland begin Sunday, September 20th and end Wednesday, September 23rd, though we encourage you to stay a few days longer if you can! You’ll be flying into Keflavík International Airport (KEF). We strongly recommend that you establish your trip dates and set flight price alerts using Google Flights (click the “View” button below)! With Google Flights, you can track prices for your chosen dates or track prices for a specific flight itinerary. You’ll receive notification emails when prices fluctuate, which is extremely helpful so you can choose the cheapest time to book. We have alerts set on our end, and we will also be notifying you to help you lock in the best price. The general advice for best airfare prices is to book around 6 months prior to your trip (for our wedding, that would be the end of March). Note for travel planning: Most flights to Iceland from home are overnight. This means leaving Saturday, September 19th will get you to Iceland on Sunday morning, September 20th.
Hotel
For our first official night in Reykjavík (Sunday, September 20), we recommend you stay at a hotel in the Keahotels chain. There are several options right in the city center for you to choose from. 4-star hotels: Apotek, Borg, Sand 3-star hotels: Skuggi, Storm (10-15 min walk away) Click the “View” button to go to the website and choose a hotel. Make sure to set your check out date to Monday, 9/21. Our wedding planner offers a discount code (PINKICELAND) that you should enter when booking! Based on our research, we'd choose Sand, but any of the 4-star options seem solid. 3-stars are fine too, just a bit further away from city center. Austin and Rogelio will be staying at the Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik City Centre, checking out on Monday, September 21.
Hotel
We have a room block at Hotel Anna, where we will be staying together for two nights (September 21st - 23rd)! We’ll reach out to you directly to discuss room options and provide you with your payment link created by our wedding planner, Pink Iceland.
Rental Car
We recommend splitting the cost of a rental car and carpooling with your close family members during the trip, if possible. Many of the car rental companies below offer discounts through our wedding planner, Pink Iceland! Austin and Rogelio have booked with Blue Car Rental. They’re often recommended, and we found it the most affordable across all the options listed below. Iceland has higher than usual damage rates to rental cars due to unpredictable weather and road conditions (rock chips, blown out doors, etc). We strongly recommend adding the full insurance for a worry-free trip. We also recommend purchasing a portable WiFi hotspot as an add-on to your rental, given the amount of time we’ll be on the road during the trip. 🚗 Blue Car Rental https://letsgo.pink.bluecarrental.is/ Using the link automatically applies Pink Iceland’s discount. 🚗 Lotus Car Rental https://www.lotuscarrental.is/ Use code eticket for 7% off 🚗 Europcar | Höldur http://www.holdur.is/ 🚗 Hertz http://www.hertz.is/ Use code PINK (ALL CAPS) to activate your discount
