From the moment we started planning, our goal was to create a wedding that felt authentic to us. We tossed around ideas, but nothing was feeling quite right... until we considered Iceland. From that point on, it felt like the pieces began to fall into place. It’s incredibly important for us to exchange our vows in a country that authentically supports us for who we are. We want to begin our marriage in a place where love in all its forms is not just accepted, but fully and joyfully celebrated. Iceland is consistently ranked as one of the safest, most peaceful, and most progressive countries in the world. It was one of the very first nations to legalize same-sex marriage and adoption, and it continues to have some of the most progressive LGBTQ+ legislation on Earth. We visited Iceland in September 2024 and were completely captivated. It's a place that feels truly otherworldly – a raw, breathtaking landscape of dramatic waterfalls, moss-covered lava fields, black sand beaches, and sprawling glaciers. There's a powerful energy to the land, and you feel it when you’re there. We wanted to gather the people who matter the most to us in a non-typical locale to create memories we’re all sure to never forget. The idea of bringing our families and friends together for an adventure – one that honestly might never happen otherwise – was simply too irresistible. We can’t wait to get rained on with you, soak in geothermal seawater with you, rub mud on our faces with you, and hunt in the dark for the Northern Lights with you.
