Bride
Rebecca (Becca) was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Along with a few of her bridesmaids, she graduated from Fox Chapel Area High School in 2016. Becca then studied at Ohio State University, where she met Austin. Becca currently studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and plans to graduate in May of 2022. Though she excited for her wedding day, she most excited to become Austin's wife and begin a life with him.
Groom
Austin was born in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating Centennial High School, Austin attended THE Ohio State University for film studies. While he was there, he met the most amazing girl he has ever known, Becca Salamacha. He then got a job at UPS and eventually moved to Pittsburgh where he got promoted from package handler to supervisor. He is currently attending Community College of Allegheny County for business administration. He is also getting ready to marry the love of his life and can't wait to start an amazing journey with Becca.
Maid of Honor
Jessica (Jess) is Becca’s older cousin but is practically her sister. Jess and Becca have been the best of friends since Becca was born, and Jess has always been there to take care of her younger cousin. The two have had countless sleepovers and happy memories together throughout their lives. They had always dreamed as children about being one anothers' maids of honor in their future weddings. Now, Becca is thrilled to make this dream a reality.
Best Man
Erle is one of Austin's best friends. Austin met Erle on his first day of UPS in Columbus. The two instantly became friends when they found that they both liked anime. After that, Erle and Austin became roommates. Throughout their year of living together, they became best friends and shared many moments of laughter and fun and even shared a few serious moments. Although Austin moved to Pittsburgh, he tries to stay in contact with Erle often and even tries to convince him to move to the city. Austin knew he wanted Erle to be his best man on such a big day.
Bridesmaid
Shaina is Becca's sister-in-law. Shaina and Drew, Becca's oldest brother, married in fall of 2016 and had been dating since their high school years. Becca grew up with Shaina as part of the family, and they have supported one another through some of life's biggest moments. Becca and Shaina have always been close and affectionately call one another "homedog."
Groomsman
Andrew (Drew) is Becca's oldest brother. He is protective over his little sister and has looked out for her throughout her life. Becca has always admired and aspired to be like her oldest brother. Drew is one of the most persistent and hard-working people Becca knows. Becca looks up to his leadership both in his ambitions and in their family. Drew currently lives in Akron, Ohio, but Becca and Austin like to visit him and stay weekends at his house as often as they can.
Bridesmaid
Becca and Mandy met in high school. They worked together as servers at Lighthouse Pointe, an independent, senior living community. Mandy trained Becca on her first day at Lighthouse, and they have been friends ever since. Since she is a few years older, Mandy helped Becca navigate high school and college with her advice and was the best friend to lean on. Though Mandy is currently in graduate studies at the University of Utah, the pair still keep in touch and remain as close as ever.
Groomsman
Nathan is Becca's second-oldest brother. Nathan was one of Becca's best friends growing up, as the two were only a few years apart. Nathan is caring and always helped his sister, played games with her, and made sure she was prepared for every new challenge ahead of her (he even taught her multiplication back in first grade). Nathan and Becca still share a friendship. Since Becca has moved back to Pittsburgh, they have attend festivals around the city and shopped around the strip district and other local markets together.
Bridesmaid
Meghann is Austin's younger sister whom he loves and cares about very much. Although there were a few moments of sibling rivalry between the two growing up, Austin has always been very protective of his little sister and has always wanted whats best for her. Since moving to Pittsburgh, Austin has not been able to talk much with his sister and often wonders what she is up to. Austin regrets all the sibling rivalry from the past and is always looking for more time that he can share with Meghann. And what a better time than at his wedding as one of Becca's Bridesmaids?
Groomsman
According to Austin, Christian has been age 13 for the past three years. Joking aside, Austin is very proud of his youngest sibling. Although he suspects that Christian is mom's favorite, Austin loves Christain very much and knows he has learned much from Christian. When Christian moved to Colorado with their mom, Austin was pretty sad, because he already felt like he did not have enough time with his brother. However, Austin is excited to share future moments with his brother. Austin truly cherishes his time with Christian, and Austin cannot wait to have his youngest sibling as one of his groomsmen and his wedding.
Bridesmaid
Hillary and Becca met as campers at a church camp, and eventually, Hillary became Becca's camp counselor for a couple years (she still is the all-time favorite counselor). Becca and Hillary did not become close friends until Hillary began working at Lighthouse Pointe a few years ago. The two shared a love of Spiderman movies, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Hillary is one of the kindest people Becca has ever met. They soon became close friends and have gone (and still go) on many crazy adventures, one of which will be Becca's wedding day.
Groomsman
Austin and Luis are recent friends that met at UPS. Austin was actually Luis' supervisor before Luis was promoted as well. The two quickly became friends. They enjoy video games together as often as they can, especially since Luis has moved to a different facility. They love to joke around with each other, but Austin knows if something were to ever happen Luis would have his back. Now Austin can count on Luis having his back on this very important day.
Bridesmaid
Caroline has been a true friend throughout Becca's life. The two met in pre-school, grew up only a few streets apart, went to the same schools, and attended summer camp together. Caroline has always positively influenced Becca's life and is one of Becca's most supportive friends. Through all the playdates, sleepovers, pool parties, and later, coffee dates, Caroline has been a constant friend to fall back on through all life's stages including this new stage in Becca's life. Caroline was one of the first to volunteer to help plan the wedding after Becca told Caroline of her engagement, so it is only fitting that Caroline be part of the bridal party.
Groomsman
Jay is one of Becca's closest cousins and Jessica's brother. Jay and Becca's brother, Drew, were very close growing up, so Becca fondly remembers Jay being around often. Jay is a loyal, reliable, and protective family member. Though he comes off as a tough guy, Jay will always be there for those he cares about. Becca has enjoyed watching Jay race his car in competitive races when she can over the past few years. Though college and law school have left Becca busy, she can always count on Jay to invite her and Austin to a race or out for drinks. Becca is excited that Austin picked Jay as one of his groomsmen.
Bridesmaid
Darrian and Becca have been friends since elementary school. They became especially close through their time in orchestra from 3rd through 12th grade. The two share a love for music and were in the same homeroom in high school. Darrian was the one who would kick Becca's butt in high school when she misbehaved (for which Becca is thankful). Darrian was also always ready to go grab food together or ride around with Becca singing Prince and Britney Spears songs. Becca cannot wait to share one of her most special upcoming memories with Darrian.
Groomsman
Jeffrey (Jeff) is a very good friend of Austin's and Austin's co-worker at UPS. Jeff might very well be one of the most genuine kindhearted people that Austin knows. Jeff makes sure to greet Austin with a friendly "Austin. Bowston. Owston!" and always offers him much appreciated food. Jeff is always open and willing to do things outside of work with his friends despite working at UPS AND running his own apartment cleaning business. Austin is more than lucky to know that he has a friend like Jeff who he can count on and knows that Jeff will be a more than perfect groomsman.
Bridesmaid
Ciera and Becca became friends in kindgarten. Ciera began the schoolyear late after her family moved to the area, and Becca gave Ciera a tour around the classroom on her first day. The rest is history. Throughout the years, CIera has been a source of laughter and positivity and a calming presence in Becca's life. Along with Darrian, Ciera and Becca played in orchestra together from 3rd through 12th grade. Ciera was always relaxed and made situations lighter. Becca is excited have such a close friend with a positive presense around during the craziness of her wedding day.
Groomsman
Calvin Carter (CJ) is Austin’s oldest friend going back to when they were kids. Austin remembers how he and CJ would try to see each other almost every weekend when they were growing up. Almost all of their time was spent either playing Halo, trying out other video games, or starting large elaborate NERF battles with CJ's dad. It has been a few years since Austin has gotten to spend time with CJ. Austin is looking forward to spending more time with this lifelong friend and couldn't think of a more worthy person to have as one of his groomsmen.
Mother of the Bride
Janet is one of Becca's greatest role models in life. Janet beautifully balance her roles as a mother and wife along with her ambitious career. She loves all of her children dearly and would sacrifice anything for any of them. She is a source of comfort and friendship for Becca, and a person whom Becca seeks for vital guidance. Janet is an admirably devoted wife and exemplifies qualities that Becca hopes to emulate in her future role as Austin's wife. However, some of Janet's most commendable qualities lie in her work ethic and determination. Janet has engrained in Becca to give her all in every endeavor but maintain her values. Becca is grateful for all that Janet has given her, and Janet especially deserves a special thanks for her vital role in this wedding planning process.
Mother of the Groom
Austin has always tried to make his mother proud and happy and sees Theresa as one of his biggest role models in life. It is no mystery why seeing everything that she has accomplished. She is very loving, generous, levelheaded, and extremely hardworking. Austin was sad when his mother moved to Colorado for her work but is very happy to hear the tremendous progress she is making at her new job. Theresa has taught Austin many life lessons such as the importance of a clean house (that lesson took longer for him to learn), always be there for your spouse, and family is the most important part of life. Austin is very happy that he is able to take those important life lessons into his marriage and that his mother will be there to support him.
Father of the Bride
Most people know Ronald (Ron) as a cheerful man and a talented musician who enjoys telling light-hearted jokes and entertaining others. Though this characterization is true, it fails to fully describe Ron in terms of fatherhood. From early childhood, Ron dedicated his time to his children. He coached Becca's softball teams and spent years personally teaching Becca how to play guitar. He supported his children's academic endeavors by reading to his children from an early age and continuously sharing facts on science and physics to explain the world to his children. His dedication followed into Becca's adulthood, as he still texts her instructional guitar videos and sends her jokes to brighten up her day. Becca loves her father deeply and is excited for him to walk her down the aisle.
Father of the Groom
Michael (Mike), loves many things: THE Ohio State University, his old Whitmer High School friends, chess, and much more. However, he loves his family most. Throughout Austin's life, Michael has tried to teach and impart all of his wisdom and knowledge onto Austin to best prepare Austin for adulthood. As hard as it is for him to admit, Austin did not always listen to his father. Growing up, Austin did not understand the significance of his father's advice. However, Austin has found a new appreciation for the lessons that his parents try to teach him. Michael is an amazing father and husband and an example to Austin as he enters his role as Becca's husband.
Stepmother of the Bride
While Becca was in elementary school, Monique and Ron married. Monique always worked hard to ensure that everyone was taken care of and made the most wonderful meals for the family. Monique still uses her cooking skills to bring us together during the holidays and provides warmth to any guests that enter her home. Additionally, Monique always looks out for opportunites for Ron, herself, and the kids to do fun activities together. Monique is always on the lookout for concerts we can all attend or other fun experiences. Becca appreciates everything Monique has done for her and is excited to have Monique as part of her wedding day.
Stepfather of the Bride
David and Janet likewise married when Becca was in elementary school. Accordingly, Becca grew up with David as a second father. David has been there throughout Becca's childhood and became a stable force in Becca's life. Becca could not ask for a more dedicated and supportive stepfather. David and Becca have shared musical hobbies and spent years playing music together during church services. Becca particularly enjoys David's sense of humor and admires David's ability to seemingly solve any problem. To acknowledge David's role in Becca's life, David will be handing Becca off to her father as part of the wedding ceremony.
Ring Bearer
Noah is the son of Becca's cousin, Shelly, and her husband, Husain. He is the cutest little boy you will ever meet and loves star wars and spiderman. Since he was born, Noah has brought ample happiness and laughter to Becca's family. Becca and Austin could not think of a more fitting and adorable ring bearer for their wedding.
Officiant
Jonathan is the pastor of Crossroads UMC's East Liberty Campus. He began his leadership at Crossroads as the worship team leader who coordinated and led music for Sunday worship. Beginning in middle school, Becca played guitar and bass for the worship team under Jonathan's direction. Addditionally, Jonathan supported Becca through many of her musical endeavors during high school. Becca is thanksful for Jonathan's guidance throughout her school years, and Becca and Austin are honored to have Jonathan marry them.
