FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The wedding dress code is formal. Men should wear a dark suit or tuxedo. Women should wear either a floor-length gown, dressy pant suit, or fancy cocktail dress. Bridesmaids will be wearing burgundy if you would like to avoid this color.

Question

Is there a room block?

Answer

Yes! There is a room block at The Midland Hotel, our wedding venue. Please find the link on the "Travel" tab.

Question

Is there parking at the hotel?

Answer

While the hotel does not have a parking garage, there is a large garage diagonal to the hotel. We recommend downloading the SpotHero app to find the best parking deals either at that garage or another nearby lot.

Question

What public transit should I take to the hotel?

Answer

Whether coming from the airport or another neighborhood in Chicago, the hotel is easily accessible from multiple train lines. Less than a block from the hotel is the historic Quincy stop that services the Brown, Pink, Purple, and Orange Lines. Additionally, the Monroe Blue and Red Line stations are only a couple blocks from the hotel. If you require an elevator, we encourage you to check the CTA website to make sure elevators or escalators are running at the stops. Traveling from Midway International Airport? You will want to take the Orange Line to Quincy. Traveling from O'Hare International Airport? You will want to take the Blue Line to Monroe. If traveling via Metra or Amtrak, Union Station is also only a 7 minute walk from the hotel.
