We found each other like many other couples have found their matches. A dating app. Neither of us expected to meet anyone on Bumble. I had never even had a dating app in my life before this night. Austin popped up on my screen, I swiped right, and it was a match. We started chatting that night and never stopped chatting. We immediately realized that we had found something special in one another. We bonded over silly things like our obsessions with chiropractic videos, but we also bonded over our values and our deep care for others. For the few days after swiping right, we were texting nonstop and would be on FaceTime for hours. I remember that this first week was a week where I was running off of maybe 3 hours of sleep each night, but my excitement about Austin completely canceled out any tiredness. We couldn’t get enough of talking to one another. So, I finally decided that it was time for us to meet in person. Austin came to my apartment on New Year’s Eve on 12/31/22 and since that day, we’ve been inseparable. We both talk about how we feel so lucky to have found each other especially on a dating app with thousands of people to swipe through. Amongst those thousands of people, we chose each other. Since 1/1/2023, we have continued to choose each other. By 12/31/23, Austin had proposed to me in Fountain Square with his grandmother’s ring. We talk daily about how we’re so excited to keep choosing one another and how we’re so excited to be married to one another. We are ready to build a life and a family of our own. - Madison
