Maid of Honor
Hannah and Katrina met at Santa Clara University, dancing on a table at a party. They each complimented the other's hair, and have been best friends ever since. When Katrina moved back to San Francisco after a year abroad, Hannah helped her get her first job in the city at Yoshi's Jazz Club, slanging drinks and occasionally seeing very good (but often very bad) music. The two have lived together in several actual apartments and recently built each other a yurt for Burning Man.
Best Man
Austin’s older and only sibling, Ryan has a lot more in common with the groom than just genetic makeup. The two are often found in their natural habitat quoting entire scenes of dialogue from The Big Lebowski at each other or perhaps just enjoying the simple pleasures of one of the first four Metallica albums. Fun fact: the brothers both speak Spanish and German, which often comes in handy when a risky comment has to be shared discreetly in a public setting.
Best Man
Paul and Austin met living down the hall from each other at Berkeley student co-op Cloyne Court Hotel and Casino and have been great friends ever since. When the two moved to San Francisco after graduating, it was Paul’s recommendation of Katrina for a job that brought her into Austin’s social circle and the rest, as they say, is history.
Maid of Honor
Katie and Katrina met once during the orientation for their teaching program in Thailand, but didn't become friends then. They reconnected years later, when Katie joined Katrina at the nonprofit Mama Hope. They worked there for 5 years and travelled to Tanzania together. Katie is better at Thai and Swahili.
Bridesmaid
Colleen and Katrina met as freshwomen at St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. They had to sell raffle tickets together outside of their local church, and Colleen thought Katrina was annoying. To be fair, at 14, she was. Katrina eventually won Colleen over, and they spent high school together as theater and indie band nerds.
Groomsman
Charlie and Austin were born two days apart from each other and were inseparable buds growing up in Glendale, CA. Until the advent of cell phones, there was only one number Austin had memorized aside from his own: the Bohlens’. The late-night conversations the two have shared, from deep philosophical themes to the cinematic oeuvre of Tommy Wiseau, could circle the globe if written down.
Groomsman
Austin met Kurt, like Paul, in his first week at Cloyne, during which they almost immediately decided to become roommates. Bonding quickly over a shared taste for underground music and movies, Kurt and Austin almost never missed an opportunity to hang out, from seeing a local show, a trip to Coachella or a late night screening of Planet Earth.
Bridesmaid
Katrina and Allegra met studying abroad in Dakar, Senegal (Hannah was there too, but this section isn't about her). They became fast friends, and visited each other often in college. After graduating, they travelled together to teach English in the small town of Kalasin, Thailand, and volunteer at a nonprofit in Chiang Mai. Unclear which one of them is better at Scrabble, but they played a LOT.
Officiant
Tess and Katrina met in San Francisco, and lived together in the Mission before Tess moved to Los Angeles. She has known the couple since they started dating in 2014, shares their love of cats, and is their wisest friend. She's really good at improv, but don't worry, she won't do any during the ceremony.
