We have opted to have our ceremony as a separate event a few weeks earlier with only our parents and siblings present. During our planning process we were faced with many inside and outside factors that made us evaluate our choices, and after a lot of careful thought and discussion we agreed to plan our wedding experience in a way that felt as uniquely "us" as possible. We wanted our ceremony day to feel like its own sacred and special event, and then have our reception be a separate occasion dedicated to celebrating altogether and spending quality time with each of our close family and friends. We hope you can understand our decision, (and of course we promise to have plenty of photos to share with you all from the ceremony day!)
Yes! We are asking that guest wear all black, and cocktail style attire would be appropriate. For women that would include black cocktail dresses, LBDs, black jumpsuits, etc. For men that would include black jackets with black slacks, black ties if choosing to wear one, and white dress shirts. (But if the guys want to channel full Johnny Cash that's totally fine too.)
The reception is structured to be a cocktail hour followed by a casual sit-down dinner with an open bar. This environment may not be suitable for all ages, however we'd like parents to decide for themselves if they'd prefer a full family celebration or a night just to themselves.
Unfortunately Mystic is known for having limited parking options. There are spots available at the venue that are shared between guests and staff, but we would recommend for those not utilizing the shuttle service we've provided from Hilton Mystic to please carpool as much as possible or Uber/Lyft from your location to be safe.
Absolutely! We chose to stay at the Hilton Mystic for its close proximity to the venue, afterparty bar area, and modern aesthetic but there are many other hotels nearby in Mystic, Stonington, and Groton if you're interested in staying at a different location.
You'll have to pack yourself a sandwich. Just kidding, of course you can - please just text or message one of us and we'll make sure to note it.
Mystic Pizza is on the next street over for any 90's nostalgic Julia Roberts fans that want to poke their heads in.
