When to Arrive & When to Depart?

Arrival -> If you desire to take the subsidized shuttle bus, or to put your luggage on the subsidized bus if you are flying from Liberia to Nosara, please plan on being (or having your luggage) at the Liberia Hilton Hotel no later than 2PM (local time) on 11/7 in order to make the bus. Departure -> If you're taken the shuttle bus back to Liberia and you have not already booked your flight and if your schedule permits, please do not schedule a departure flight earlier than 8pm (local time) on the 11th unless you are able to purchase your own departure transportation (we can help with the logistics as much as possible). This allows for check-out at 10am + 4 hrs. back to Liberia + arriving at airport 2 hrs. early for international flight with a 2 hr. "just in case" marginal period built-in. If no flights are available after this time, we have some guests saying it's cheaper to leave on the 12th (as the 11th is a holiday). You'll just need a hotel for the 9/11 night - Hilton in Liberia.

Daniel Oduber International (LIR) Airport

The Liberia Airport is the closest international airport to Nosara, which is where Finca Austria Estate is located; however, it is still approximately 3.5 - 4 hours by vehicle. Having made this trip before, we recommend flying out of this airport & then choosing 1 of 3 transportation options below, although, you are free to choose your own transportation logistics/arrangements. [Option 1] - Fly into Liberia & take a $20/each way discounted bus ride organized by us to Estate (or nearby if you are staying offsite). [Option 2] - Fly into Liberia & purchase your own ticket for an approximate 30 minute small prop plane ride via Sansa Airlines (link provided) to the small Nosara airport. The Sansa flight from Liberia to Nosara is approx. $105/person/each way including up to 30lbs of luggage at current pricing; limited seating available. With notice, we can then pick you up from the Nosara airport and take you to the Estate. [Option 3] - Rent your own 4X4 vehicle (necessary this time of year)

San Jose International Airport, Alajuela

This is the farthest of the 2 international airports to Nosara, which is approximately 5.5 - 6 hours by vehicle to Finca Austria Estate. You are free to choose your own transportation logistics/arrangements from the San Jose airport to Nosara. [Option 1] - Rent your own 4X4 vehicle (A 4X4 vehicle will be necessary during this time of year) [Option 2] - Purchase your own ticket via a small prop plane via Sansa Airlines to the small Nosara airport (which is very close to the Estate). The Sansa flight link is provided. Note: Limited seating available. With notice, we can then pick you up from the Nosara airport and take you to the nearby Estate.
