***Do I need a Passport?

YES!!! Not only do you need a passport but it MUST NOT have an expiration date of 6 months or sooner and MUST HAVE one (1) blank passport page available. What's the weather like?

Costa Rica has many seasons just like us (well.. most of us.. sorry Louisianans). The second week of November is the end of their rainy season. We anticipate that during the wedding, everything will be lush, vibrant colors, a few light showers here and there in addition to some cons -> like the roads will not be in the best conditions (except these gravel roads to be muddy, some flooded, having to take different routes, etc. BRING BUG SPRAY | STAY HYDRATED

Do I need a car?

Answer

Yes, we do recommend that. We will have a rented 4x4 (provided by bride/groom) at the main house in case of emergenices, grocery runs to town, etc. if you would like to rent your own vehicle, ATV, UTV, etc. you are more than welcome to do so. To enjoy the spirit of Finca Austria and its surroundings you should be mobile. Going to the different beaches, to the village or to restaurants we recommend a four-wheel-drive-car or a quad. These vehicles can be booked once you are at the Finca, but we recommend to reserve it before your arrival. Sometimes during the main season please be aware that no cars are available (or your preferred car). Fince Austria is happy to assist, if you need any help booking a car.

How far is the nearest beach?

Answer

The nearest beach is the Playa Pelada, it takes about 15 minutes by car. To the famous surfing beach Playa Guiones you need 5 minutes more.

Is there horse riding available directly at the Finca Austria?

Answer

Finca Austra's partner for horse riding is www.playaponies.com. You can do some training or do a ride at the beach or through the rainforest.

How far is it to the turtle beach?

Answer

Playa Ostional the famous turtle nesting beach is approximately 35 minutes away by car. Turtles nest at Ostional year round, but peak time is during rainy season (but should still be in play during the wedding). From August through December arribadas occur regularly once, sometimes even twice a month. We always have good information, whether driving there is “vale la pena” (worth the effort)!!

How far are the restaurants and bars?

Answer

From Finca Austria you need about 10 minutes to Nosara town airport, about 15 to Playa Pelada, and about 20 minutes to the “American project”(direction Guiones). You have plenty of restaurants in that area in between.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Answer

Yes - there is free wi-fi at the estate (and most local restaurants) but can be spotty as we will be high up in the mountains. However, Finca Austria just notified us that they upgraded all their wi-fi plans and equipment so you should be fine while at the estate.

Can I bring games?

Answer

Yes! When we aren't partying it up or on the beach or whatnot, feel free to bring any games you'd like to play.
