We are getting married!

James and Nicole first met the summer of 2015 at his family’s cabin in Blairsville, GA. Nicole had been close friends with his little sister, Katie, for years and was excited to meet the rest of her family. However, at the time of their meeting, neither knew their paths would meet again and they would fall in love. That being said, his grandma had an inclining that “Nicole would be perfect for James” … In 2022, at Katie’s wedding in Estes Park, CO, James was their officiant and Nicole was in the bridal party, so they ended up spending quite a bit of time together. The night before the wedding James and Nicole ended up wandering around Estes Lake and finally had their first kiss. Followed in short order by James breaking his toe and losing his phone… Eventually, James was able to find his phone, his toe healed and Nicole and James’ relationship began. Almost two years later, Nicole’s mother was turning 70 so a birthday party had been organized with plenty of family and friends as well as the “other” Austins so the parents could meet. Unfortunately, James came down with a severe case of food poisoning and while he missed the party, Nicole brought the celebration back to the cabin so everyone could hang out. James asked Nicole to bring him something and unbeknownst to her, he had been hiding a special box… In a moment that changed both their lives, James said “I may need to go to urgent care tomorrow, it would be cool if you could sign in as my fiancé instead of my girlfriend” and with tears in her eyes, Nicole said YES!
