Yes! Kids are welcome! We will have some activities set up for the kids, and they are welcome to ride the mountain coaster as well (see below for age and height requirements).
For our mountain wedding in late August, dressy casual attire strikes a balance between elegance and comfort. Women can wear a light, breathable dress or a stylish blouse paired with a skirt or tailored pants. Men can opt for a button-up shirt with chinos, and to elevate the look, they can add a sport coat and tie. Since mountain temperatures can vary drastically, especially between day and night, it's important to bring layers—a light jacket, shawl, or sweater would be ideal for cooler evenings. As for footwear, comfort is key—women should go for dressy sandals or flats, while men can stick with closed-toe shoes or loafers. Avoid high heels, as the terrain can be uneven. We ask that you DO NOT wear jeans, beat up tennis shoes, or t-shirts.
There is plenty of parking in the Skibowl West parking lot. If you plan on drinking and are staying in Government Camp you are welcome to consider taking the complimentary shuttle.
Before the ceremony, starting at 3 pm, the shuttle will loop for 30 minutes, stopping at: Skibowl West Best Western Grand Lodges Collins Lake Resort Skibowl West The shuttle will drop guests who plan to take the lifts to the ceremony at Skibowl West, and then promptly depart to take the remainder of the guests up to the ceremony site. Those who are driving to the event, and would like to take the shuttle up to the ceremony site, should be in the Skibowl NO LATER THAN 3:20. Both the lifts and shuttle take approximately 20 minutes to get to the ceremony site. The shuttle will only go up to the ceremony cite ONE TIME, so if you miss the shuttle you will have to take the lift or you will miss the ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests will have 3 options to get back down the mountain to the reception site: the shuttle, ski lift, or mountain coaster. Skibowl's mountain coaster is "the Pacific Northwest’s only ½ Mile Dual Alpine Slide, this major attraction sends you riding own a half-mile track of twists and turns through mountain meadows before dropping you back off in the base area of Skibowl West. Two side-by-side tracks let you ride alongside family and friends as you take banked turns, S-curves, and hairpin thrills at the speed of your choice." Kids must be 48" or taller to ride alone. Kids 36″ to 48″ and at least 3 years old must ride with a ticketed adult. Adults with passengers must be able to fully operate the brake lever. If you plan on wearing a dress and taking the alpine slide, it's recommended to wear shorts under your dress.
Once the reception starts, the shuttle will drop off guests staying in Government Camp as needed. We recognize this is a long day, so please feel free to leave when you need to.
