The Wedding Website of Olivia August and Nick Tabakow

Travel Note

Flights

We recommend booking flights 3-6 months before the wedding! Note - make sure you are booking tickets to PTY - Panama City, Panama (NOT Panama City Beach, Florida)!

Travel Note

Hotels & Airbnbs

We recommend that guests stay in the Casco Viejo area. Feel free to book any hotel, Airbnb, or rental you prefer in this area. All wedding events will be walkable or a quick Uber trip from Casco Viejo. If you prefer to stay outside of Casco Viejo, a lot of the larger hotel chains are downtown which is a 10-15 minute drive away. In case you don't feel like researching, we have linked a few recommended hotel options below!

Other Places in Panama to Visit

Bocas del Toro Set on the Caribbean side near the border with Costa Rica, Bocas del Toro is an archipelago known for its vibrant Afro-Caribbean culture, turquoise waters, and laid-back atmosphere. It’s Panama’s premier Caribbean beach destination, blending culture, nightlife, and nature in a uniquely colorful setting. This is more of a touristed destination and popular with couples or singles rather than families. Top activities: • Beach hopping (e.g., Red Frog Beach, Starfish Beach, Zapatilla Islands) • Snorkeling and diving around coral reefs • Dolphin watching and boat excursions • Exploring local culture in Isla Colón Boquete Nestled in the highlands of the Chiriquí Province, Boquete is one of Panama’s most important eco-adventure and coffee regions. Its cool climate, fertile volcanic soil, and lush cloud forests make it a hub for outdoor tourism, perfect for active families and couples. Top activities: • Coffee plantation tours and tastings • Hiking in Volcán Barú (Panama’s highest peak) • Ziplining, whitewater rafting, and rock climbing • Birdwatching in cloud forests Gulf of Chiriquí Located along Panama’s Pacific coast, the Gulf of Chiriquí is a marine paradise made up of protected islands and pristine waters. It’s one of the country’s most important marine ecosystems, offering exceptional biodiversity and remote, luxury island experiences. This is more of a laid-back beach vibe. Top activities: • Island hopping • Snorkeling and diving around coral reefs • Sport fishing and kayaking El Valle de Antón Located about two hours from Panama City, El Valle de Antón sits inside the crater of an extinct volcano, making it one of the few inhabited volcanic calderas in the world. It’s a popular nature escape for locals and visitors, known for its unique geology, biodiversity, and relaxed atmosphere. Top activities: • Hiking to waterfalls like Chorro El Macho • Visiting hot springs • Wildlife spotting • Ziplining and biking

Ubers/Taxis

Ubers and taxis are the easiest way to travel around Panama City. Also, many hotels/Airbnbs offer pickup from the airport to your hotel. Our welcome event will be in the Casco Viejo neighborhood, and our wedding will be a 10 minute drive away. In Casco Viejo, they shut down the streets during the weekends to allow visitors to walk around freely, so we don't recommend getting a rental car if you are staying in that area. Please reach out if you have any questions regarding transportation!
