Holy Family, Pray for Us!

Augie: The first time I remember seeing Gabi was reading at 9pm masses in 2019. Flash forward 2 years to Spring 2021 when we were assigned to be co-small group leaders on a Hoosier Awakening retreat. I was amazed to see this woman laugh and care for the retreatants in our group. Pretty soon every week revolved around the next time I got to see her. The Lord let it snow in April so that I could clear off her car and ask her to breakfast (somehow she said yes), and volunteered with her to move furniture at the St. Vincent de Paul society... twice. It was after one of these trips that I had to let her know how much I thought of her, and by the grace of God she felt the same. Gabi: I can't possibly fathom how awesome God is, especially since He put such a sweet and wonderful guy in my life. We were paired up as small group leaders on an Awakening retreat at IU, and I really got to know him as a partner and a friend. From there we went with other Hoosier Catholics to a barn dance and the next day he picked me up so we could volunteer at Saint Vincent de Paul in Bloomington. Being partners has been the most natural thing ever, and we'll keep saying 'yes' to God, be it walking with others in faith or moving furniture. :)
