Our Desire

Our desire for this wedding celebration is exactly that, to have a celebration with you all that have been a part of our lives up to this point. We cannot wait to have fun with everyone and enjoy God's creation. Above all that, our desire is that you experience the love of Jesus that we both have in our hearts and know that Jesus loves you unconditionally. Every marriage must understand this type of love that Jesus has modeled for us, even a love that took him to the cross. We hope that throughout the evening, you have a lot of fun, and you experience the love of Jesus Christ.

How We Met

It all started with a dog (no surprise) From Audrey: I was puppy sitting a sweet bloodhound named Roscoe, and took him for a walk through downtown Wapak, where we stopped by The Bridal Gallery to visit matchmaker #1, my friend Hannah. Cori (Nick's sister and matchmaker #2) happened to be working, and we met briefly. Later that day, Hannah told me that Cori wanted to fix me up with Nick. She poured on about how well he would treat me, how he loved the Lord, had been a football player and was now a principal who was good with kids... I told her she was basically selling me Tim Tebow, but I didn't want any part of being fixed up. Through the next 7 months, I dated other people, lost my job, and had started a plan to move out west. I did pray now and again about Nick, though. I asked God to let it be if He wanted me to meet Nick.... Fast forward to late May, 2020.... take it away, Nick... I was looking at buying a house and my sister came with me to look at it after I made my mind up I was going to buy it. We sat down and told me she had been praying about something to tell me for a while. To give context, I generally gave pretty big pushback to getting set up with anyone. She told me about Audrey and was told she loved Jesus, dogs, used to live in the country, and was some kind of doctor. I looked on Facebook and thought she was pretty cute, so I went against my normal and reached out to her. (Gonna butt in here: I agreed to meet him to politely decline, explain in person that I had just broken things off with the person I'd been dating because I was moving away. I'd wish Nick well, and move on. Guess God had a different plan). Back to Nick's version: We met up at church, took a walk at Fort Amanda and got ice cream. She told me all those things, but I was persistent, and it paid off. She kept agreeing to see me and I knew I fell in love with her the night we had Little Caesars on the tailgate of my truck and danced to Al Green in the middle of her street.

Proposal

Audrey, here. I planned us a quick trip over Easter weekend to the Smokies for a little hiking, and asked Nick to pick out a couple places he wanted to visit while we were there. One was Abrams Falls. That morning, we had breakfast, packed a picnic lunch and I donned a shirt that read "Catch fish, not feelings" (I'll bet God got a real chuckle out of that, knowing what was about to happen) Nick here. I had the ring with me, which is a great story by itself, and didn't have much planned beyond I wanted to ask her to marry me at the end of a hike somewhere. Going to a waterfall sounded like a good idea. We went with our packed lunch and make the 2 mile hike to Abrams Falls. There were more people there than I had anticipated, and Audrey picked a place to eat. I did not have room to get down on one knee, so I was looking around for a better spot. Audrey had started unpacking the food, but noticed I was restless and pointed out a large rock away from most of the people. We went over there and started eating. Well, she started eating and I was trying to get my sandwich down I was so nervous. I had wrote Audrey a letter after the night we danced to Al Green and I had her read it then. ( I was oblivious and wondered why he'd want me to stop and read a letter in the middle of my tasty sandwich- he knows I love food- the nerve!). After she got done reading, she still didn't get it, so I got down on one knee and she said yes to me.

For all the days along the way
