Flight
International airport with direct access to London via the Gatwick Express. This is a train direct from the airport into Victoria Station, which is a very central tube station. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival at Gatwick Airport Station for around £20/pp. If you are flying out of Gatwick as well, purchasing a "return ticket" (round-trip) will be the most economical.
Train
London's subway system is known as the Tube. It is extensive, fast and inexpensive. We recommend booking accommodation walking distance (less than 0.5 miles) from a station, which most will be anyways. Using the Citymapper app, you will be able to navigate the tube easily. As US credit cards are not contactless, you will need an Oyster card. These can be purchased from the airport or any station and work as a pay as you go system. We recommend putting on £10/day in London but you can always "top up".
Train
