FAQs

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Our dress code is "semi-formal, but don't stress about it". We are just delighted to have you there! Please note that this is an outdoor venue, so you may not want to wear stiletto heels. Topanga Canyon sometimes gets chilly at night, even in the summer, but we will have heaters and blankets available just in case.

Question

What time should we arrive?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm. "House opens" at 4:00 pm.

Question

What should we know about the venue?

Answer

Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum ("garden theatre") was established in the McCarthy era as a haven for actors and folk singers who had been blacklisted. It is now a professional repertory theatre company, providing summer Shakespeare, educational programs, and musical events. Parking is available in the parking lot or along Topanga Canyon Blvd. The patio reception area is mostly flat, and there are ramps to the amphitheater and the bathroom facilities. Service animals are welcome. According to their website, "Theatricum is located outdoors, and there can be low temperatures in the Canyon at night and high heat and sun during the day. Warm layers for evening and sun protection during daytime are advised." The amphitheater seating is covered from the sun and there are plenty of shady trees on the grounds. There is no smoking allowed on the grounds due to the risk of wildfire. The designated smoking area is at the top of the driveway (where the entrance sign is).

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

The theatre's parking lot can fit about 35 cars. Plenty of additional parking is available along Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Question

Is the venue accessible?

Answer

Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum is an ADA compliant venue. Accessible designated parking spaces are available in the Theatricum parking lot. Ramps offer access to the amphitheater and bathroom facilities. Service animals, trained to work and required due to a patron’s disability, are welcome at Theatricum according to their policies and California law. For the safety of patrons and local wildlife, no other animals are allowed on the premises, including those providing exclusively emotional support, not trained to work, and not required due to a patron’s disability.

Question

Are either of you changing your names?

Answer

Nope! We like our names.
