Aaron and Aubrey met each other as worship band members at Bear Valley Community Church. Aaron sang and played guitar and Aubrey sang along with him. They were acquaintances for the longest time and then one day Aaron decided to send her a Facebook message saying: “Hey.” Aubrey was shocked that he was messaging her and didn’t know what to think. Does he like me??? I barely know him. She said “Hey” back and the rest is history. They started messaging back and forth which then led to hanging out. Apparently Aubrey was just on Aaron’s mind one night and he decided to message her to see what would happen. Good thing he did because during their first official date they sat for 4 hours at Starbucks just talking non-stop about everything and realized how much they had in common. You could feel the feelings begin to grow. They went on a few more dates here and there and finally on July 13th, 2017 Aaron asked Aubrey to be his girlfriend while they were at the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. This is also where they shared their first kiss! From then on they pursued a long distance relationship while Aubrey was at college in Abilene, Texas. Aaron would drive to Abilene on weekends and Aubrey would catch rides home with friends whenever she could. After a year of back and forth, Aubrey decided to come home for good and attend the University of Texas at Arlington. Aaron was also wanting to further his education at UTA and they ended up going to college together for a year. Over the next few years they went through a lot together. They sang together, went to many concerts, went on a cross country road trip, went on many hikes, enjoyed camping outside under the stars, laughed together, cried together, and even faced hardships along the way. Aubrey ended up finishing her degree in music at UTA and became an elementary music teacher and Aaron got his airline dispatching license and was ready to begin his career as an aircraft dispatcher. After 5 years of dating they moved in to their first apartment in Euless, TX that they still live in today with their cat Hazel and leopard gecko Leonard. In January 2023 Aaron received a dispatching job in St George, Utah. This meant they had to do long distance again! For a whole year Aubrey would fly to Aaron during school breaks and he would fly home to her whenever he could. It was really hard, but they did it and they made so many memories in Utah. After that year, Aaron got a job for Envoy Air meaning he could finally move back to Texas!!! On their 7 year anniversary Aaron took Aubrey to Palo Duro Canyon and proposed to her on their favorite trail: The Lighthouse Trail. She said yes!!! Ever since then they’ve been living in their cute little Euless apartment living their best lives, pursuing their dream careers, and falling more in love with each other every day.
