Just like most typical Wednesday nights, Charlie was out line dancing with his friends at Jimbo's, when he ran into three of his students from Fresno State who were out celebrating Brooke Ochoa's birthday from the day before. Unbeknownst to Charlie, Brooke and his little sister Maria, who had been teammates on the Fresno State Women's Water Polo team, had been planning on attempting to set up their older siblings for weeks now. So when Charlie had Brooke very excitedly tell him he needed to follow her big sister, Aubreanna, on Instagram right there and then while she watched, he was a little confused. A few days later Aubreanna, who had been in on this whole situation the entire time, decided to throw Charlie a bone and post a cute selfie on her story. Charlie took the bait and sent her a message, and sparks flew from there. About two months later, Aubreanna took a gamble after getting to know her future-husband and decided to fly up to Fresno on a Friday to finally meet him. They clicked immediately, and all the fun they had been having over the phone the past 40 days only got better once they were finally in each other's presence. Aubreanna was only there for 36 hours, but Charlie just knew he had found his girl. The next Monday, on November 24th, Charlie asked Aubreanna to be his girlfriend over a FaceTime call because he didn't want to wait the full month until he saw her next to ask then. After almost a full year of traveling back and forth, multiple camping trips, and endless cyberbullying, Charlie dropped down onto his knee at Warms Waters Beach in Carlsbad and asked Aubreanna Nicole Ochoa to be his partner for the rest of their lives. He had been planning that moment since May, and had known Aubreanna was the one since the first month of that year. It was October 3rd, his birthday, and that yes he received was the greatest gift any man could've asked for. Thanks to their meddling little sisters, they’ve each found the kind of love most people only read of.
