One of Nikki & Josh's favorite local summer activities is to go kayaking along the Savannah River. If you choose to kayak the entire loop, be prepared-- its a tough one! For a more laid back version of our favorite activity, please visit Savannah River Kayak Rental.
Come visit and see the location where Josh asked Nikki to be his girlfriend on November 24th, 2015! Nearby is also STAY Social Tap & Table where Nikki, Josh, and their friends meet nearly every week for trivia, YourPie, Roll it Up Sushi Burritos, the Buzzed Bull alcohol-infused milkshakes, the Columbia County Performing Arts Center, and so many more beloved places where they have made many memories.
Josh & Nikki's favorite place to take a stroll with their dog, Autumn. Also a great place to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Savannah River, rent kayaks, enjoy a beautiful walk on the Historic Augusta Canal, and more!
A hidden gem, one of our favorite places to splash around that ISN'T the pool!
3 hour drive from Augusta. This spot has been a family favorite for a trip up to the North GA mountains to see the famous Alpine Germantowne. Helen is absolutely beautiful during this time of year and boasts the most beautiful autumn leaves you will see anywhere in the Southern US.
For those coming out of town that will be around for a few more days, a day trip in Savannah is always a great bet! It's about a 2 hour drive. Famous for being the setting of Forrest Gump, the history of this old Southern city drips like honey. Our favorite spots include Plant Riverside, the Riverwalk and the American Prohibition Museum (this place is FULL of museums!). We highly recommend the Olde Pink House and Alligator Soul for Southern fare. Pair that with ice cream at the Leopold's and a walk along the river. Perfect! Nearby is also Tybee Island, a beautiful GA barrier island beach famed for its driftwood.
Like Savannah, this is a popular visit famed for its history and southern charm thats an easy 2 hour drive from Augusta. Right on the water, Charleston boasts Rainbow Row and charming boutiques in its Battery and French Quarter. We also highly recommend visiting Patriots Point, a naval museum located in Mount Pleasant just outside of the city.
