We're excited to have you join us on Sunday, May 12, 2024 for our wedding reception and 10 Year Anniversary celebration. With an understanding that this event will fall on Mother's Day, our celebration will include special considerations for the holiday. Our ongoing joke is that Atira does not remember the first time we met, but Josh does. It's his best-kept secret! We officially met at Southwest High School in Theatre activities in the fall of 2013, but likely crossed paths years earlier when we rode the same bus in the afternoons while attending Scott Middle School. In a swift turn of events during the show run of Secret Garden in September 2013, we became an unlikely pair of friends across the Lights and Props crews... and quickly became the talk of the cast, crew, and Drama Club. Nessa Cox gets the credit for immediately coining the idea that "Atira and Josh were going to get married" and sharing it boldly to anyone who would listen. We barely knew each other at this point, but we were good sports. So, we played along in the way that high school theatre kids do, and thus were "married". We were quickly named Silver Hawk Theatre's "Power Couple" as we rose the ranks in our respective focus areas – not Lights & Props, but Sound and Costumes. If you know us, you know we are hard workers and project-oriented, so we enjoyed presiding over our respective domains in the LSW Theatre department. After a tumultuous Pre-Prom season in early 2014, we ultimately chose to attend the dance together, which took place on the evening of May 10th, 2014. Now if you're here reading this today, then you likely know what we decided just two days later. After nearly 10 years together, including 9 years running our creative services business and one year in our first home, we invite you to join us in celebrating at our special 10 Year Anniversary wedding reception event on May 12, 2024.
