No Change of Heart, just a Change of Plans

Cloundland Canyon, Georgia // May 20, 2020

After my Dad passed away I looked at weddings differently. Knowing my Dad wouldn't be there to walk me down the aisle, just wouldn't be the same. Since then, I wanted the day I got married to be intimate and in a magical place. To me it is about a marriage over being just a wedding. As me and Ethan were discussing when and possibly where, Yosemite National Park in California came up and we both fell in love with the place. I am a true believer in everything happens for a reason. So even though COVID-19 ruined our original plans, we found another beautiful and magical place just 2 hours away from us, called Cloudland Canyon. The overlooks and waterfalls will take your breath away. With less than two weeks to make new plans, the day could not have been more prefect. Everything fell into place, the weather was amazing for a hike. It was exactly how I imagined marrying my soulmate! Though we wish you could all be there, you were in our hearts. && We can't wait to celebrate with you all at our reception! Be sure to let us know if you can make it!

How it all began

Her Version

We technically met in college. Though we never spoke to each other, we were in the same welding class. I (athena) definitely thought Ethan was very attractive but at the time I was extremely shy. Keep in mind that I was the ONLY girl in the entire class and Ethan was seriously the ONLY guy that never spoke to me. I completely thought he had no interest in who I was and that I had no chance. After months had passed of being in the same class, my friends and I were out celebrating Halloween and we ran into Ethan and his friends. With some encouragement from my friends I officially introduced myself. I walked up to him, tapped his shoulder and excitedly (while trying to be cool) said "hey! I'm Athena do you remember me from class?" He replied "yes" and held out his hand... yes, to shake my hand! I was a little confused but went on about my business (thinking this confirmed he wasn't interested). Later on that night we crossed paths again and he invited me to meet up with him at Waffle House. I agreed to, but then ended up standing him up. The following day he DM'd me on facebook asking why I didn't show up. My excuse was that I didn't drive and my friends wanted to go home. That started our endless conversations that lead us to where we are today. :)

How we met

His version

A couple nights before Halloween a buddy and I were at sandbar and she approached me and said hey, I was alittle nervous so i just stuck my hand out for a handshake. After we parted ways I started thinking that if she wasn't attracted to me she wouldn't have approached me. So i asked her if they were gonna go to waffle house that night and she said yes so I sat there for 2 hours waiting and she stood me up so i messaged her the next morning ans asked her how she was gonna stand me up at waffle house and she said she didn't know i was serious. Then she invited me to hangout again so it went from there and here we are.
