Manchester has no shortage of great food and drink options - from cozy cafés to lively pubs and romantic dinner spots. Here are a few of our favorites: Breakfast & Coffee: Up for Breakfast – Local favorite for hearty classics. Little Rooster Café – Cozy spot for pancakes and omelets. Lunch: The Union Underground – Gastropub with sandwiches, salads, and craft beer. Cute outdoor area too! (Doug's favorite) Zoey’s Deli – Known for fresh bread and generous portions. Dinner: The Silver Fork – Intimate fine dining (reservations recommended). Ye Olde Tavern – Historic New England comfort food in a 1790s inn. The Copper Grouse – Elevated American fare at The Equinox Resort. Drinks: The Falcon Bar – Fireside cocktails and wine at The Equinox (our favorite) Mulligan’s Pub – Local favorite for after-dinner drinks. And of course, The Equinox Resort has several lovely on-property restaurants and lounges!
The Equinox Resort offers a variety of fun including tennis and pickleball courts, fly fishing with Orvis, canoe or kayaking, off-roading with Land Rover, a full spa and fitness center, access to hiking trails at the Equinox preserve, and a full golf course ranked in the top 3 in VT and in the top 75 in the U.S.!
This was the summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln (the eldest son of the former President) and has spectacular views of the surrounding Taconic mountains + a museum tour available. It is located right around the corner from the Equinox. Highly recommend!
Collecting covered bridges is one of the most sought after things to do on any visit to Vermont and there are a handful of stunning bridges within striking distance of Manchester. We think the historic and intricate timber structures are incredibly fun to find, compare and appreciate. It’s the perfect New England thing to do on your trip. Here are a few bridges you can visit nearby: Bennington – Silk Road Covered Bridge, Paper Road Covered Bridge and Henry Covered Bridge Arlington – Chiselville Covered Bridge and Arlington Covered Bridge Towards Brattleboro – Scott Covered Bridge and Dummerston Covered Bridge Each bridge is unique and offers its own photography opportunity but some do have far superior backdrops. The best part is finding a new bridge that you didn’t expect to see along a beautiful countryside road.
