Flight
Your journey to Nepal will probably include a stop in another city — the good news is, there are lots of convenient and comfortable routes. From North America or Europe, flights often pass through major hubs like Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Istanbul. If you’re traveling from Asia or Australia, cities like Singapore, Tokyo, or Seoul are great connection points. When you arrive in Kathmandu, many nationalities can get a visa right at the airport. Just be sure to check the latest entry info and costs based on your passport before your trip.
Rental Car
Taxis are the easiest way to get around town. You can grab one right off the street - they’re everywhere and super handy for short trips.
Travel Note
While you’ll find that many places in the city take credit cards, it’s a good idea to keep some Nepali rupees with you - especially if you're heading outside of urban areas, where cards may not be accepted. There are currency exchange counters at the airport when you arrive, so it’s easy to get local cash right away.
Travel Note
To stay feeling your best, stick to bottled or filtered water while you're here. When it comes to food, go for places that look clean and busy, and choose cooked dishes over raw or uncooked items like salads or unpeeled fruits. A little extra caution goes a long way!
