Question

How do I get around in Kathmandu?

Answer

Taxis are readily available throughout the city. They are easily identifiable by their black license plates with white lettering. Remember to negotiate the fare before your ride. Alternatively, you can use ride-hailing apps like Pathao or inDrive to call a car and pay the driver in cash. (Note: Pathao may require a Nepali phone number.) Note: Taxis don't accept credit cards so you will need cash to pay for them.

Question

Do you have recs outside of Kathmandu?

Answer

Absolutely! While we're thrilled to have you join us in Kathmandu, Nepal offers so much more to explore. Depending on your desired vibe, you can find everything from serene relaxation to thrilling adventures. For those seeking beautiful views but to stay nearby, consider staying at one of the many resorts near the valley in places like Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. These offer stunning panoramic vistas and a peaceful escape from the chaotic city. If you're looking for adventure, Pokhara is a must-visit! Chill by the lakeside, or get your adrenaline pumping with paragliding and bungee jumping. Nepal is also a hiker's paradise, with treks ranging from easy day hikes to multi-day expeditions. Popular options include the Annapurna Circuit, Ghandruk, Namche Bazaar (gateway to Everest), and the Manaslu Circuit, each offering breathtaking panoramic views. You can research these destinations and activities, and reach out for more help planning!
