Let's Get Groovy!

Sean and Ashton found each other in the most unusual way (for this generation at least) -- a true blind date! Their mutual friend Victoria had a feeling that the two of them would click, so she fully planned and organized their first date. Sean and Ashton were only given each other's social medias to creep on to make sure they were mildly attracted to each other... A kink was thrown into the plan on that Saturday, however, as Sean threw his back out (but was still willing to meet Ashton, could you imagine?) and Ashton got called into work. Luckily, both of them were okay with rescheduling and they finally met on June 16th, 2017 at the Sunshine Laundromat and Pinball bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The date lasted all through the night - Sean ended up beating Ashton in pinball, but Ashton was the true Battleship champion. Afterwards, they went for Mexican food and Ashton shared an appetizer with a random lady at the bar whom she never spoke to again. Sparks ultimately flew and Sean finally asked for Ashton's phone number as the subway doors were about to close.

- Until they moved into an apartment together, Sean and Ashton alternated between NYC and Connecticut! - Their first kiss happened after their fourth date - Sean said "I love you" first at the Milford MetroNorth station - Ashton took a trip to Paris after their second date -- luckily, Sean didn't forget about her. ;) - Sean's one way commute to Ashton's apartment was almost 3 hours long!

Sean proposed to Ashton on December 28th, 2020 in New Orleans on their family trip to celebrate her 30th birthday. The weather was beautiful and the family decided to take a tour of Sean's college campus that eventually led them to Audubon Park. Ashton's mom told everyone that they'd be taking some family photos for Christmas cards to cover the fact that she needed to dress up. After a few photos, Sean totally surprised Ashton and got down on one knee. Little did she know, he had worked with a friend of hers from her early Chelsea Market years to create the perfect vintage engagement ring. The engagement and their love of New Orleans prompted them to get married there!
