When Shakespeare first spoke of "Star crossed lovers", he set the standard for what love stories would be, likely until the end of time. It is fitting then, that this love story begins in a theatre, just as the story in Verona was originally told. However, instead of sonnets and soliloquies, our young lovers found themselves in the throwes of Transvestites and The Time Warp. Through the magic of Richard O Brien's The Rocky Horror Show, Ashlyn and Tanner met and quickly became friends. Though their friendship stayed just that for many years, after the strenuous isolation of the pandemic, both our protagonists reconnected, each eager for lively company after nearly a year removed from the world. They each found something more in each other than just good company. They found a piece of their life that they never knew was missing.
During the following year's production of Rocky Horror, Tanner did his best to hide an extra surprise in his petite Golden wardrobe. During the final bows Tanner managed to produce a ring and propose. Ashlyn's stunned surprise prompted "Say it! Say it!" from the encouraging crowd. A great close, to a great second act, of an even greater story. Our protagonists are eagerly planning their wedding, which will serve as the climax to this first story of theirs.
