Following a mutual friend's holiday get together, the night was culminating with festivities at Johnny's Hideaway. Amidst the lively chatter and drinks being held between friends, across the flashing lights like a guiding light calling ships in the night to the warm embrace of safety, Max was captivated seeing Ashlyn under the Johnny's famous disco ball. That first glance is all it took to create history. Over the next few months, while overcoming the difficulties that COVID presented the long distance love birds, Max and Ashlyn reconnected on the shores of 30A. Late night walks on the beach reminiscing on the past, the present and dreaming of the future, confirmed for them that distance truly makes the heart fonder. Max would spend the next few months traveling from Florida to Georgia to visit Ashlyn every chance he could get. Through two years of long distance and hard work, Ashlyn started her law school journey in Charleston, SC and the Air Force graciously moved Max to Sumter, SC. Finally no more 5-10 hour road trips to see each other. Finally closer, Max and Ashlyn explored all that Charleston and the surrounding area had to offer discovering the mutual love for travel, new experiences and amazing food allowing them to handle every high and low that life could throw at them. Grueling nights of studying for law school classes, 6 months deployed to the Saudi Arabian desert and Bar Prep seemed like speedbumps rather than mountains to climb when they were together. Max and Ashlyn cannot wait to celebrate their wedding with all the people that have had an impact on their lives. From years of school together, friendships made to last a lifetime and lessons shared that will help them through this beautiful union, everyone has played a part in this couple coming together and creating a love story with no end but we all know... the best relationships start at Johnny's Hideaway.
