Our story starts where many love stories do… a bar. It was August of 2016. Ashlyn and Jesse had just moved to Urbana, Illinois for their first year of veterinary school, and had been invited to grab drinks with some classmates prior to starting orientation week. They ended up sitting across from each other at a high top and spent the rest of the night lost in conversation with one another. Connecting with someone new had never felt this effortless, and it was obvious that this was the start of something important. From that moment on, Ashlyn and Jesse were inseparable. They spent every hour of every day together. From mornings in class, to afternoons of Ashlyn whipping Jesse at checkers (or was it the other way around?), to evenings spent on the back porch just listening to their favorite music. To anyone else, things looked like they had moved pretty fast. For us, we couldn't believe it had taken this long to find each other. A little too fast wasn't fast enough.
