We met online in August of 2016 and instantly our love for beer grew the conversation. It was nonstop talking online, on the phone, and eventually met in person a month later. With each date passing the conversations sprouted roots until one evening out dancing to Latin music was the spark to say we should date. Boy messages girl, girl responds back with witty sarcasm with the boy countering with wittier sarcasm. Hours turn into days which turn into weeks into over a month of long conversations. They met online yet each conversation linked them closer as they had more in common in real life as they thought. Paths unknowingly passing each other throughout their late teens and early 20s. After four awkward dates filled with unfortunate events, 2 years • 6 months • 2 days of courting and here we are ready to broaden our adventure.
Who would have thought Ashlye or Roberto would get married? Ashlye’s Perspective: I got done work early and Roberto had sent an Uber to come take me home. After getting home I start asking a million and one questions on how we would spend the weekend. I see Roberto practically dressed and after 10 minutes of rambling I notice a note on the bed reading “Put me on, wear these jewlery and part your hair to the side”. The note sat on top of a beautiful dress Roberto had bought for me with my shoes and everything laid out. I raced to get ready. We rush out the door to our surprise date night and I keep guessing were we are going to my avail we pull up to the Philadelphia Play House. Roberto had tickets waiting for us and the 1st Act was less than great. During intermission we stretch our legs & Roberto told me to take my seat as he wasn’t feeling well. I sit and wait patiently before asking if he was alright. He asks for me to come down which I see him filming me grace down the staircase. He is acting very strange and I am very worried at this point as he looked ill. At that point he drops to one knee and I am at a lost of words in the lobby.
