We met our freshmen year at Winter Springs High School. We both had first period American Sign Language together. I remember walking in and immediately noticing him in the corner sitting alone, so naturally I sat right next to him and said Hi! This began a 4 year long friendship, that included lots of mischief, lots of laughs, and even going to a homecoming dance together! Even though we both had dates, we still managed to find each on the dance floor - a lot!! Fast forward 4 years after graduation with little to no communication in between that time... that same cute boy I sat next to in ASL class popped up on my timeline. I couldn't resist, so I messaged him asking to reconnect and even had the guts to invite him to dinner. What's that old adage? - "The Rest is History" :) Messaging Tyler that day was the best decision I've ever made. I can honestly say I am marrying my absolute best friend.
When I first realized Ashley was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I started asking her subtle questions about where she would want her dream proposal to take place - even though I already knew the answer was probably going to be Universals Harry Potter World. I also knew that if I kept asking her questions regarding a proposal she would start to get suspicious and would think that's exactly where I planned on proposing. I wanted to surprise her and do something unexpected, but that I knew she would love and remember forever! I worked at North Carolina State University and was told there was a nearby park that hosted an annual sunflower festival, if you know Ashley well enough, you know that sunflowers are her favorite! Before I picked a day we would go, I did my research and found out which day the sunflowers would be at full bloom. When I mentioned it to her, I told her I just wanted to go and take pictures so, of course she was excited! We woke up early that morning and parked my car at my work which wasn't to far from the park. We rented some lime scooters (again if you know Ashley, you know how much she loves those dumb scooters) and rode them over to the festival. We walked around the sunflower fields and I could tell she absolutely loved everything about it just by the look on her face! I snapped a few pictures of her in the field and carefully grabbed the ring that was hidden in my pocket, I was so nervous that I would drop it in the sand! I waited for the perfect moment and got down on one knee behind her, I could barley speak but I was able to get out the words " Baby, will you marry me?"
