Mexico City International Airport (Benito Juarez Airport)

This airport is the best airport to fly to since it is the closest airport to Puebla. There are no direct flights to the state of Puebla. There is an airport in Puebla, however, you would have to make a transfer flight from Mexico City to Puebla if you would prefer to fly there. We recommend flying with Delta, JetBlue, or AeroMexico. If you know of any other airlines that fly to MEXICO CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, that is another option. Transportation Recommendations

When arriving at Mexico City International Airport you can either rent a car at the airport and drive to Puebla (1hr30min-2hr drive) or take a bus (Greyhound bus style) which will take you comfortably to Puebla's bus station (3hr drive). There are 2 bus terminals in Puebla, make sure when you're at the bus terminal located in the airport you say "Paseo Destino" going to Puebla. If you are on a budget we also recommend carpooling/ splitting the car rental with someone you may know who is also invited to our wedding to make renting a car more affordable. By renting a bigger vehicle it will be comfortable, affordable, and exciting to get to know the state of Puebla together as a family or friends. If you choose to go this way make sure to exchange your USD for Mexican Pesos at the airport before leaving the airport because there are 2 tolls on the way to Puebla and they only accept cash (Mexican currency). The car rental agencies are inside the airport. If you fly into terminal 2 there is Hertz Europcar and Avis. In terminal 1, they have Budget, Firefly, Hertz, Enterprise, etc... If you are not comfortable with driving from Mexico City to Puebla since it is another country and people in Mexico City drive how people drive in NYC. In that case, we recommend you take the bus (Estrella Roja/ADO) to the bus station “Paseo Destino” going to Puebla and then rent a car in Puebla. That way it’s less of a hassle driving through Mexico City and dropping off your vehicle before your flight back to the U.S. If you are coming for 2-3 Days we recommend flying into Mexico City International Airport, taking the "Estrella Roja/ ADO bus" directly to "Paseo Destino" bus station (Puebla), and taking a taxi/Uber to your Hotel or Airbnb. If someone you know is already there and has a car rental, you could ask them for a ride when you arrive and to our wedding ceremony and reception.

If you were looking for something a bit homier and more affordable another option besides a hotel would be to rent an Airbnb. Again, just like renting a car together with others you may know coming to our wedding, you could also rent a nice house with many rooms. We recommend San Andres Cholula, San Pedro Cholula, or the Angelopolis area if you choose to rent an Airbnb. Make sure the house you choose has a garage or secure area to park your car rental. We attached the link to search for the Airbnb website if you choose to go with that option, all you have to do is put the area (which we recommended a few areas above), how many people are being lodged, check-in and check-out days.
